Why War with Iraq? Or why against?

Why do you think we should go to war against Iraq? Or why are you against such a war?

Don't muddy the water by comparing Iraq to Afghanistan which has a long tradition of guerilla warfare. Iraq would be much easier to control, but that still doesn't make it the right thing to do.

I think your underestimating the economic capabilities of Iraq. Iraq is probably the most advanced nation in the region (other than Israel). I believe there will be little resistance if we have to send in our armed forces and if we are lucky, one of Saddams Generals will do his country a favor and execute that mad man and use the Iraqi Army to maintain peace as they construct a new Government with our help. I have Iraqi and Iranian customers who are very familiar with the situation over there and they tell me that their people over there are tired of Saddam and the Clerics that rule in Iran.

We CAN NOT sit back and wait for the next attack. These finatics have to be met head on and we must take the fight to them or we will see many more 9/11's. I also believe Iraq was involved in the Oklahoma Bombing and the attacks on 9/11. Saddam has been funding many of the Terroist organizations around the world. He sends $25,000.00 to the families of suicide bombers and proudly announces it. It is our duty to confront evil when it threatens us or our national interest, and I think it's high time we iliminate this mad man before he can do far more harm in the future.

Can Bush himself personally assure us on live TV that Iraq is a huge threat to us beyond all else and that Americans may die to fight it? Can he come on live tv and tell us that Iraq was behind 9/11 and that our vengence is just? If he does so then I will fall in line. But just him- like Kennedy did with the Cuban missle Crisis. (I hate to compare Kennedy to Bush- but at least that booze addicted, speed shooting, whore monger gave the nation that much.) Why won't Bush sit before the nation and call for war on live TV and present his reasons? Or is that anti american to ask reasons from my President?

I wouldn't worry about Israel. They've made it clear that they will respond to any WMD attack with the Samson Option.

Correct, once we win this war with Iraq, we can always implement a Marshal Plan.

For for teaching Democracy, we had an outstanding idea with post-war Germany.

We asked German-Americans to become Mayors of the cities in Germany. The lived there entire life in America and fully understood what Democracy was all about.

But being of German origin, they also understood the country and the people.

This is how America was able to introduce Democracy to the German People after WWII, and they did a dang good job!

This same model worked very effectively with Japan a year later.

The women in Iraq can drive cars, go to school and College and hold professions. That is so much more than can be said for our "allies" it is sickening. My Uncle worked in Saudi Arabia for 25 years. When he went to Baghdad under Sadaam it was like breathing fresh free air.

The tens of thousands of Kurdish civilians Saddam killed with poison gas didn't find the air so fresh.

From what I understand, the reactor we are helping build in N. Korea is not capable of producing highly enriched uranium or weapons grade plutonium. Not that it couldn't be converted. But look at what the N. Koreans are doing right now. Just today they opened the rail way between the North and South. N. Korea has apologized to Japan for taking some of their people hostage.

To offer a carrot to Iraq would be rewarding them for violating the promises they made to allow Saddam to remain in power. We have seen what an invertibrate like Clinton has done for our credibilty and our willingness to enforce the conditions Saddam signed on to. At this point in time, we can't act like Neville Chamberlain (sp?)

To some, it appears the spectre of a toothless NGO like the UN is more heinous than an actual world class killer like Saddam.Or maybe...that is precisely why it bugs the wobbly kneed bunch.The UN is irrelevant yet is a convenient straw man for those that would rather avert their eyes from a true threat like Iraq.What is even more risible is that Bush knows this better than his detractors and has made that clear.
