I saw a few lawyers on TV last night talking about the case. They claimed that many killers, especially those who are older, do not mind being sentenced to death in California.

They get a cell of their own, better food, special privileges and very little chance they will ever be put to death by the state.

Westerfield is not spring chick. If the state takes 15 years to finally put him to death, he will be 75, IF he lives that long.

There is a better than even chance that this man will die of natural causes in his private room.

Interesting thought, but Westerfield is not indigent. He was living pretty nicely before this.

Ah, but the psychological impact of being on "Death Row" has GOT to be mind-bending.
And if the political/social winds should change, it may turn out to be a Texas or Florida experience...

Make that 65 years old, as he is now only 50. 50 + 15 = 65.
But, even at that his life is basically over so lounging on death row is much better than out in the general prison population. Unless of course you are into the "Chocolate speedway" life style.

This might be true, but it sure was gratifying to see that child murderer tremble in fear as the death sentence was handed to him.

Are death row folks also entitled to conjugal visits too? I short, hanging out on death row is no picinic. No one really wants to be there. Very few clamour for the death sentence.

Let's see, since this guy is only 50, in 15 years he will be 65. Many people live to be 80 and 90 nowadays.

In what state did you learn simple addition?
