S.A. Woman Charged $32 For Opinion
Fax Company Profits From Controversy

SAN ANTONIO -- A San Antonio woman was recently charged $32.45 for her opinion on a hot topic.
Susan Lyman-Krom (pictured, left) said she decided to respond to a poll from an unsolicited fax whether the phrase "One nation under God" should be removed from the Pledge of Allegiance.
"I felt strongly about that question," Lyman-Krom said in an interview with KSAT 12 News.
After writing down her vote, Lyman-Krom faxed her opinion to a 900 number.
According to the fax, calls cost $2.95 a minute. The average fax takes about two minutes in standard mode, the fax stated.
"We figured it would cost $6," Lyman-Krom said.
But when Lyman-Krom received her bill, she said she was shocked to see that she was charged $32.45 for an 11-minute fax by Right2Vote Limited, a Canadian company.
"I think it's a scam," Lyman-Krom added. "I think its a way to hit a nerve with the general public on a heated issue. They are turning right around and collecting all this money on a phone call."
Lyman-Krom said that AT&T told her that the 900 number she called belonged to British Fax Directory.
British Fax Directory is a subsidiary of 21st Century Fax, a London-based company that was fined $1 million by the Federal Communications Commission for junk faxes.
KSAT 12 News tried to contact Right2Vote, but there was no telephone number listed. A phone number to remove a fax machine from the company's list was constantly busy.

So do most members of the NEA . . .Pete Singer has a PhD, an endowed chair at Princeton, and thinks interspecies sex is a jim dandy idea whose time has come.
An advanced degree and good sense can be and frequently are mutually exclusive.

Well, I voted for Reagan, and the Bushes and volunteered for Pat Buchanan (before he lost his mind).

I hope they fax it back to us, because it was our only copy, and we need to keep this thread...
Oops... Does that make me a blonde? ;0)

Hey thunder thighs--
Do you feel suitably chastised, or did those rants remind you of the nasty little girl in the 6th grade?
Though not a physician, a diagnosis of early onset menopause is a distinct possibility for RepublicanHippy.
I trust you won't waste a lot of time feeling guilty.
Cheers!

Excellent assessment of Buchanan.
That'll win back a few points.

Well, I've got to run, hope to catch you later. I can't post anymore tonight, i've run out of Whiteout.
To: RepublicanHippy
Well, I am happy for you... however, the fact remains that unless you are just trolling for attention tonight, pretty much nothing but Liberalism has come out of your mouth... I go by what you post, not by what you SAY you have done...
Sorry, but even though I'm not from Missouri, you have to Show Me...
(btw, if I'm typing too fast for you, let me know, K?)

I thought I had something in common with you people because I am a life-long conservative but apparently not. 1.) You are *not* conservative.
2.) You are *very* blonde.

So it's okay for you all to rant, but not for me to defend myself by responding?
To: Chad Fairbanks
Isn't 'RepublicanHippy' an oxymoron?
Nope, no oxy there.
