Reno blames JEB (Return to Chads?)

[Exerpt]Reno's camp may sue over touch screens used in Florida primary
MIAMI - (KRT) - Janet Reno's campaign for governor is trying to build a sweeping case against the now-infamous touch-screen voting machines that campaign officials believe may be responsible for Reno losing the Democratic nomination.

The case, summarized in a draft document obtained by The Herald, would not be used to challenge the results of last week's election, even if Bill McBride is certified Tuesday as the nominee, campaign officials said Saturday.

Instead, the evidence would become part of a larger effort to put the blame for Florida's latest election fiasco at the feet of Gov. Jeb Bush and the election reform law he signed with great fanfare last year.

"What we're doing is far more important than whoever the nominee is," said Reno campaign manager Mo Elleithee.

... part of a larger effort to put the blame for Florida's latest election fiasco at the feet of Gov. Jeb Bush ...

But the strategy of making election reform an issue to use against Bush - specifically targeting the voting equipment - is designed to remind loyal Democrats of their frustration after the contested 2000 presidential election in which Bush's brother narrowly won the White House.

By raising a challenge with similar themes - "smudge buildup" and "inadequate calibration" replaces "chad buildup" and the "hanging chad" - Democrats could win some points.

I suppose that this could be interpreted as a mark of the Dim-wit-rats' desperation, but I can just see the media crawling all over this. I encountered an obviously die-hard Dim the other day who was positive that JEB Bush was responsible for every evil short of WTC's construction short-comings!

Considering that the 2 counties with the most problems have their Supervisor of Election Offices controlled by Dim-wit-rats, and that they have had 2 years and much state money provided to fix any teething problems and that the State offered warnings and help several months ago to both Rep.s and Dem.s and the Florida Counties, this just FROSTS ME completely.

The GOP & Jeb need to get out there quickly & inform everyone of the real cause of the problems and the nedd to investigate the cause....either poll worker incompetence due to improper training by Broward Election Supervisor (Democrat) or deliberate negligence to help Mc Bride garner more votes than Reno...see this AP story for details of why votes were not counted:

MIAMI (Sept. 15) - Election workers in Janet Reno's stronghold of Broward County have found uncounted votes from last week's primary, though officials didn't say how many.

The votes were found Saturday in a precinct that first reported no votes, said Willie Weslie, project manager with Election Systems & Software Inc., which made the touchscreen voting machines used in the county.

That precinct, with 832 registered voters, was among 247 that Reno has asked officials to review in her battle with Bill McBride for the Democratic nomination.

``I don't know what happened in every case. I just know poll workers had procedures and didn't follow them,'' said Weslie.

Weslie said poll workers in the precinct should have inserted a cartridge in the machines, which would have collected the votes when polls closed. But they did not, he said, so the empty cartridge made it appear that no votes were cast.

Workers examined touchscreen voting machines until shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday, and were expected to continue Sunday. The deadline for counties to report official vote tallies to the state is 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Election Supervisor Miriam Oliphant's office would not discuss the uncounted votes.

``Once the process is complete, the supervisor of elections will have a statement with respect to that and every other issue her office feels is necessary to assure the voters of Broward County that every vote will be counted,'' said spokesman Rick Riley.

Reno trailed McBride by 8,196 votes in unofficial counts from the state. The 247 precincts she asked to be reviewed have 15,841 voters.

Reno has also asked Miami-Dade County officials to check for lost votes. Officials there found more than 1,800 uncounted votes from four precincts Thursday, and were reviewing touchscreen voting machines to determine if more were unreported.

Miami and Broward counties used the same touchscreen machines made by Election Systems & Software.

Why is it that certain people just can not face up to the fact that they are LOSERS!!!!!!!

Excuse my pun! :)

THIS JUST IN: "Democrats and Janet Reno have hired
Ms. Clio who has said that, based on HER analysis, the Republicans contaminated Democratic cosmetics.
The result of this "right wing conspiracy" was to create smudges
which made all Democratic voting machines unfairly shutoff and their votes did not count.
Incredibly, this unfairness even occurred even when some voted more than once.
CBS, NBC and ABC report that Ms. Clio's astrologic findings are more than good enough for them."

Ever notice?

When a Republican loses a race "the people have spoken".

When a Democrat loses it is someone's fault, or the sytem broke down.

Florida really should have a statue, in Janet's likeness, called the Statue of Idiocy....

"Give me your stupid, your idiots,
Your huddled masses learning to vote for me,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the brainless, tempest-tossed to me.
I lift my flamethrower beside the golden door."

I was out of the loop a bit. did she ask for a recount in all of Florida ...

Late Thursday or early Friday she officially requested a state-wide MANUAL recount of the vote. Leaving aside the concept of counting electrons manually, the Florida State Election Commission turned her down!
