I heard that audience snicker when Torch asked "Who do you believe?"

dude! the audience was laughing at him at the beginning of his closing statement! bahhahahahah! The Torch is out!
To: YaYa123
Damn it I missed it. Was it really bad?

I've never seen Forrester before.
He sure has a sharp wit compared to his opponent - the dimwit.
In my opinion, Torricelli made a fool out himself during the debate.
If I were a New Jersey voter, my choice would be very easy.
Forrester for Senate!!

The Torch is a little girly man.
He smells like a loser from here...

No hope at all for Forrester??I wouldn't say "no hope" but his chances are slim, in my opinion.
I think if Forrester stays cool and resists any attempts by his handlers to move him leftward or be a scumbag "moderate", then he has a shot. He has to make conservatives want to go and vote. It's a tough thing to overcome, union thugs busing every parasite they can find to the polling places, going to nursing homes and scooping together bags full of absentee ballots, and frightening the minority "victim" class into voting with lies and more lies. Traditional American families don't stand much of a chance against the relentless assault of the scumbag liberal Democrats and their thugs.
But you never know. Miracles happen, and maybe God will be looking over New Jersey this year.
Regards,
LH

This is a good start on "those who understand the basic human right for self defense" and also have served as Senators for the state of NJ. Can you expand on this off hand?
Bumpin Doug, Garrett and Bush!

Well, we haven't had a republican Senator in 30 years, Maybe this election will change that.

So is Torecelli basically saying "Vote for me, so you can have as many abortions as you want, whenever, wherever, no matter how old you are!"
He sure has accomplished a lot since he's been in office. Sounds like a couple of senators we have over this way...
To: Lancey Howard
This debate is irrelevant because New Jersey will reelect the liberal no matter what.[yawn] You're just not up on current events, are you? 70% of voters don't know Forrester, and he's still leading Torch in the polls.

No hope at all for Forrester?? :-) On the contrary, Doug Forrester is probably the GOP's best hope to win a Dem Senate seat this election. In the last five polls I've seen, Doug led in four (three by double digits) and was tied in one. Definitely vote for and support Doug in any way you can.

In the last five polls I've seen, Doug led in four (three by double digits) and was tied in one......unfortunately, KYW-TV in Philly quoted a new poll tonight by Quinna..Quainno...Quiannip...that group from up in New York that had Torch at 42% and Forrester at 38% -"a virtual tie" - this is the same station that had Forrester up by twelve points a few weeks ago - big slippage if accurate.....

[yawn] You're just not up on current events, are you?I know that Crest has been shown to be an effective decay-preventive dentifrice that can be of significant value when used in a conscientiously applied program of oral hygiene and regular professional care.

As a NJ neighbor I feel hopeful after reading this thread. I will go catch the rerun on cspan.org if they put it up there. Go Forrester!

Just got back from the debate. I had a chance to be in the audience ---first time. Interesting! Everyone was cautioned about not applauding until the debate was over. That caution seemed to keep everyone mute as far as their reactions to the answers of either candidate -----until that last rioteous comment from the T about 'believing'. All the Forrester people broke up, and even some of T's supporters laughed! I was surrounded by T people. Corzine sat to my front left, and he was pretty quiet, but others were nodding and making positive comments when they thought T was making headway. But what do they have? A crooked pol, and they all know it. They were there for their party.
When the camera was not on Torricelli, he was impassive --just looked at Forrester without any expression at all. totally blank. He was quietly smooth, but you knew inside he was roiling.
Lots of familiar faces in the crowd. Got a kiss from Bret Schundler - another of my heros.
Outside, before the debate, there were quite a few from the Green Party, and loads of T's goons ---big strapping men and MANY with t-shirts from some construction company. All were noisy, of course, but there were no big incidences from the crowd as such. One Forrester guy went thru the crowd with a tray of hors d'ouevres saying "Compliments of David Chang!
It was another situation altogether when I went into the studio doors ---or tried to. The Green Party did a sit-in in front of the doors, completely blocking the entrances, and they wouldn't move. You couldn't get the doors open, either. I tried to get through to one door that was ajar, and finaly someone from inside gave me their arm, but I had to practically step on legs. I grabbed some of the Green's shoulders for balance, but I made it a point to drop my pocketbook on one of them. My bag is HEAVY! I even carry a dictionary in it ---LOL! I heard later that the police showed up.
As far as the debate went, many of the issues were the same as last week. Forrester covered the Superfund question very easily. I thought T would make more of it, but he couldn't without opening himself for more of his laxity on the issue. Torricelli seemed to raise his voice more - I guess from his own frustration (good!), but he couldn't crack Forrester. I don't think he expected Forrester to have a handle on things and was going to be a pushover. HeeHee --he was wrong!
