Finally, someone has the guts to state the obvious

"Guts" and "Senator Leaky" are words seldom found together in the same sentence or in close proximity in real life.

Sen. Leahy: West Nile Outbreak Could Be Terrorism

Could be terrorism, but more likely it's the result of open borders that is allowing unscreened visitors into the country who may be infected. If that's the reason, Leahy or anyone else in Congress will ever admit it.

Our enemies in the middle east want to kill us all.
I'm glad leaky-leahy has been disturbed out of his
slumber into recognizing this danger to America. Now
Senator, stop putting your party ahead of the country
and help the President do something about this.

"I've never heard anybody mention West Nile virus as being a possible terrorist attack. What makes you say that?" the Vermont radio talker asked

Lost amidst the news about the bioterror use of anthrax is the growing menace of West Nile virus – and evidence it may have been the first bioweapon used by Iraq against the U.S.

Sen. Leahy: Obstructing Nominations of Judges Could Be Terrorism

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Pat Leahy, D-Vt., said Thursday that he suspects the recent rash of Judicial nomination blockades that have killed the chances of more than 30 highly qualified Americans across the nation to have their vote in the Senate is the work of terrorists and their supporters.

He seems to be applying Post hoc, ergo propter hoc ("after this..." [terrorist attack] "..therefore due to this"). As a point of proof fallacious, but as a hypothesis less so.

But he'll need a lot more than that to make anything approaching a rational, intelligent case. Right now I see little more than the "AIDS was invented to kill off the blacks" level of thought leaking from the lips from Sen. Leaky.

As a terrorist weapon, it's not very efficient, most people don't even get sick from it.

Boy! I don't even know what to say. This madman BETTER have some proof of this! He could cause a panic over something that isn't the case.

If this gets picked up by the major media, the political ramifications could be AWESOME!

And yet, I'm confused I guess. It's one thing when some people chatter and speculate about things like this in a bar over a beer, or in a university class. Coming from a highly placed government official gives it a stamp of legitimacy.

Coming from a Democrat, just over a month before a major election, it's just shocking! If this is picked up by the wires, he's just handed the senate to the right! This country will turn into a nation of hawks with a capital H! They'll all be demanding Hussein's head on a platter and anyone who votes against it will be not elected/recalled.

This could REALLY stir up the pot!

It is more likely due to the influx of third worlders bringing the virus with them. This political hack is simply attempting to head off the obvious eruption which will occur when people experience diseases that they have never heard of before.

With all due respect this is getting ridiculous.
When it comes to all the diseases killing Americans, the West Nile Virus barely even shows up on the radar screen.
If this is a terrorist attact, it sure is a pathetic one.

I have news for you - people were dying like crazy during the Civil War because of mosquito-induced "brain fever". The symptoms of that disease sound an awful lot like the current-day "West Nile Virus". I truly doubt the West Nile Virus is a terrorist-induced disease.

Miraculous, really, how the terrorists have recuited innocent birds and mosquitos to do their dirty work for them. If only they knew!

Beyond the innocents, who's getting fingered here? The first outbreak is related to an Israel outbreak in 1998.
