In 1968, she was cast as Dr. Zira, a chimpanzee psychiatrist in the science-fiction classic "Planet of the Apes."
Damn! What a career come down from Streetcar. The poor woman.

Her screen career entered a lull in the late '50s, after she was listed as a communist sympathizer by Red Channels, a red-hunting pamphlet that influenced hiring by studios and TV.
Was she a liberal left wing nut?

A radiant, lovely 24 year old Kim Hunter appeared in one of the greatest ( and almost never seen) films ever made. "Stairway To Heaven". (1946). She had a great presence at an early age, bringing solid, interesting performances to her movie and stage work.

anyone seen "Born Innocent"?
To: kattracks
A great actress, able to handle any role, she was one of my favorites.

A radiant, lovely 24 year old Kim Hunter appeared in one of the greatest ( and almost never seen) films ever made. "Stairway To Heaven" (1946), which later inspired a young Robert Plant to pen the immortal rock classic of the same name, dedicating the lyrics to Ms. Hunter and what she was buying.
