Judge Rules in Favor of Katherine Harris
Leon County Clerk of Court | 9-11-02 | Me

Posted on 09/11/2002 8:08:26 PM PDT by KatherineHarris4Congress

I've just been scanning around again re-reading the court case of Jim Hill v. Katherine Harris, and noted the new addition as of 9-11-02 "Final Judgment Summary". Here is what the judge stated:

"Based upon the disputed facts and applying well established legal precedent, this Court finds that Harris did not comply with the mandatory, resignation requirement of F.S. 99.012. However, her non-compliance was statutorily forgiven by operation of F.S. 99.012 (4)(f). She has qualified for the primary election and shall not be removed as a candidate for the election to the 13th Congressional Seat."

He went on to say how he ruled against Hill in other issues. To read the entire summary judgment, visit the Leon County Clerk of Court website.

Let's just hope that Hill displays some semblance of decorum now, and drops the rest of his complaints.

Thanks for the good news!

No doubt, all Harris opponents will recast this sound legal opinion in the frame of illegality, favortism et al. . .

Most excellent. Justice prevailed. I must admit to being a little worried, given the recent history of Florida judges. :-)

Thanks, Abbey!

As Abbey knows, I have this habit of being able to find things online before the media or anyone else is able to find things. I found out the judgment last night before Naples News or even the Associated Press found out!

Truly, this is a great accomplishment! Way to go Katherine~

Well, just for yucks, I'll toss this out:

My 21 y.o. daughter lives in Fairfax, VA. She attends George Mason Univ. I also have a couple adult female cousins who live in the immediate vicinity, one of whom has served as a senior staffer on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Point being: If either of you should manage get a position on Katherine Harris's staff in some capacity -- which doesn't seem all that unlikely -- I could probably help you arrange a safe place to live near there. Not so much me, but one of them. They are all good people. For a month or two, you could probably share with one of them.

That's just an fwiw.

Good luck!

Thanks so much, Harry. I have to talk with my advisor in the next few weeks to see if the interns from our college have a place to stay, and then I have to let Katherine know if we do our internships through the college that I attend, or through and organization. But, thanks so much for that!
