New York Sen. Hillary Clinton said Wednesday that President Bush summoned her husband, ex-president Bill Clinton, back to the United States in the hours after 9/11, contradicting the version of events offered by Mr. Clinton last year. "My husband was in Australia and the president called him back and sent a plane for him," Mrs. Clinton told National Public Radio's Tavis Smiley in an interview commemorating the 9/11 attacks.
Clinton made the claim that Bush summoned her husband while describing concerns about the welfare of her family in the aftermath of the World Trade Center catastrophe.
"In my own family, you may recall that my daughter was in lower Manhattan on the morning of Sept. 11," she told Smiley. "It took hours to make contact with her and thankfully we were able to make sure she was OK."
Then Mrs. Clinton made the comment suggesting that the Bush White House had summoned her husband back to the U.S. from his Australian speaking tour.
But in an interview last year, Mr. Clinton indicated that the Bush White House sent a military plane for him as a courtesy, not because he was being "called back."
"The Bush administration was kind enough to give me a plane," he told NBC's Tom Brokaw a week after the attacks. "I thought I should be back in America and back in New York. And they provided me a plane. ... And I was glad to be back home with our people here and to do what I could to encourage people in the recovery efforts."
Mrs. Clinton told Smiley that on 9/11 last year, she felt she "had an obligation as a senator from New York to reach the White House," but she did not say whether the contact had anything to do with the Bush administration's decision to retrieve her husband.

Now this family, worth millions, a former President and a sitting Senator, who's only child has secret service protection as do they, couldn't contact each other "for hours". Hogwash!

What kind of psychosis drives people to climb onto the largest stage in the history of the world, and lie repeatedly? I suppose its the allure of absolute power, regardless of the means used to attain said power.

Yes. And it certainly proves the maxim that those who most hunger for power must be kept away from it.

It is hard to pick through the detritus of all that they say and find the most psychopathic thing we ever heard from them, but this is right up there.

Here is what really pi$$e$ me off. Why the heck doesn't the media call her on this and ask her what she means by this nonsense? It drives me crazy that we all understand she is lying about this stuff and the media lap dogs just sit there like a bump on a log.

I honestly think they can't help it. They've been doing it, and getting away with it, for so long the lies just spew out like some sick reflex.

What kind of psychosis drives people to climb onto the largest stage in the history of the world, and lie repeatedly? psychosis = fundamental mental derangement characterized by defective or lost contact with reality, other wise called

Your post is exactly right! Why in the world would Bush want or even need the ex? Doesn't make any sense to me. I can't stand Hillary, but I believe that NewsMax is doing their readers a disservice by trying to find controversy where, I believe, none exists.

I remember it like it was yesterday. The Twin Towers are hit. The Pentagon is hit. A plane goes down in Pennsylvania. Air Foce One may be targeted. Disneyworld and Atlanta may be hit. The White House is a target. AND there is Dubya, up in the air, worried about Bill Clinton. Gag me. Everyone knows that Slick had gone off to Australia and couldn't get a plane out because of the cancellations. The Big Creep, himself, admitted he called Washington to have them send a plane for him. Hillary has mental problems.
To: Jaidyn
...Why in the world would Bush want or even need the ex? The way I read this was that the former president would be a potential terrorist target.
What I'd like to know is if President Bush also ordered extra security protection for his father, Carter, Ford, and Reagan. If so, then it would make sense for him to send a military plane to pick up Clinton.
Or it might just be SOP to automatically increase protection for former presidents during a "high security alert".
To: Tumbleweed_Connection
sounds like she is trying to say..that either Clinton called the real Prez and then GW called him back...and sent a plane for him...we are to infer that Clinton called for the plane and GW does what Clinton commands...
or
Clowntown is so important so needed that GW "called him back" to the states so GW could ask Clinton what he (GW) should do...
Either way the truth isnt in her...doesnt occur to her...
She would lie ..even if the truth got her more....
