"Some University of California-Berkeley students planning Wednesday's Sept. 11 memorial continue to receive hate messages -- a result of their widely publicized statements against distributing red, white and blue ribbons"

Uh huh...they refuse to distribute red white and blue ribbons for a "memorial service" for the victims of an attack on not only the WTC, but a US military target: the Pentagon. Red White and Blue are the colors of the nation that was attacked, the nation that suffered the loss. Sure, a few non-Americans were also victims....but 99 percent of the victims were AMERICANS, and our colors are RED WHITE AND BLUE.

Would these students feel differently if flight 93 had reached its destination at the Washington Monument or the White House? Sadly, probably not.

Instead, they procede to systematically stomp on the first amendment rights of their peers who disagree with them.

Their behavior is OFFENSIVE, and HATEFUL and INTOLORANT in the extreme.

Imagine if those planes had gotten within sight of their intended destinations before being taken over and rammed into, say, the Golden Gate Bridge, Universal Studios and some local wine fields. You think the Berkley reaction may be just a wee bit different?
