Then they will vote to confirm President Bush's conservative judges and when O'Conner and Rehnquist retire, President Bush can nominate conservatives to the Supreme Court and get them approved.

YES.. Feel Good more David Souiter's will be appointed. < /sarcasm off >

Judges. It's all about judges.

I understand your sentiments but the Pubbies need 50 votes* when it comes to organization. RINO's, no matter how much we detest them, usually vote (R) when it comes to organization. That places the Pubbies (Lott, et al) in charge of the Senate which is marginally better than the Rats (Daschle, et al) when it comes to confirming judges. At least they will be voted on.

*We actually need 52-53 votes to make the Senate Chaffee/McCain proof.

Bob Smith lost cause he acts like a fool. It`s that simple. One day he`s a Republican, then an Idependant, then back to the R`s.

At least we'll beat the dem. Smith looked headed for defeat. Sununu doesn't appear to be a RINO just more moderate than most of us would like. Not the same thing.

Well, if you feel it's hopeless, why don't you just jump off a cliff?

I don't think Pickering and Owen were Souters. And the reason we got Souter was because the Democrat Senate rejected conservatives or anyone who wasn't pro-choice and Bush 41 ended up nominating an unknown. That is what will happen to Bush 43 if we don't get him a Republican Senate.

In case you haven't noticed, Senator Schummer (D-NY) is using a religious test for nominees, if you believe in God and God's laws you can't get approved at the moment.

It's a shame to see Smith go down and doesn't bode well for outspoken conservatives in the Senate, but Sununu, despite his flaws, is by far the better candidate than Shaheen.

Let's vote down the Hitlery clone once and for all and take back the Senate in '02!

The folks at AIPAC certainly seem more adept at knocking off southern black democrats like Hilliard and the McKinney twins than they are at defeating white republicans like PJB in '96 and now Sununu.

The Granite State? For AIPAC it's more like Kryptonite.

I don't get it. Smith stays true to his principles therefore he should be re-elected but Bush should give up his principles so he will get re-elected.

I don't get it.

If the GOP can regain control of the Senate and keep the House, then we'll get to see what they are made of. Unfortunately, they will probably not only fail to reverse the creeping socialism of the past many decades but will actually quicken its pace. Then the usual suspects here on FR will say, "but their majority isn't large enough!" It's the same old GD shell game.

Don't expect any miracles.

Well, if you feel it's hopeless, why don't you just jump off a cliff?

Honestly.. was this statement needed? Really what prompts people to say things because I personally Am outraged that each election year we take another SMALL babystep Left. Would you prefer NO one speak out against any "R".. would JEFFORDS and McCain also be in this too?

Back in the day.. Debating was a healthy thing. are we working towards a cause here or not? If so what's the Cause?
What issues that matter Most to me Personally are
Upholding the Constitution
Gun Issues
LESS Government
I not only see this For my own Point's of views but also see it for the better of the Country as a whole. I don't see how we are going to take the "small" baby steps back if each election cycle we go more "left". Did you not read a few months ago that McCain also had his tantrum and wanted to "HOLD UP" the Judges? And what about Jeffords and the other sorta republican's /sorta democrats.. aka RINOS.. you honestly think they will approve of someone "RIGHT" of them? RIGHT of the majority which are not members of the "GOP".. but more the "RinoNC".

I really don't understand why people are cheering this stuff on. NO I wont Jump off a cliff.. I'll speak my mind and Vote. Same as YOU do I'm sure.

Smith, who had briefly quit the party for a failed presidential bid in 1999, found himself the target of a GOP effort to dump him.

That whole episode was bizarre. If I were a NH Republican, I'd want to dump him too.
