I really don't think he would have talked. And it was actually rather breath-taking to watch the folks who usually say "Hang the worthless SOB immediately if not sooner" suddenly sound like liberals: "We must try to understand his rage, and what made him do this terrible deed, and see if he will shed light on his co-conspirators."
