Growing up in America with the Kennedy-Camelot myth, once grown one may realize:

*The Kennedys kill women (Mary Jo, Marily Monroe, Martha Moxley...etc.)

*Not only do they kill women, they have no respect for the institution of marriage and constantly cheat(all of them).

*Rapist (William Kennedy- not sure of his name, the guy who became a doctor, and had drugged the woman and raped her, and naturally was found "innocent" by the jury...a la OJ).

*Many of them are drug addicts (one died of a heroin overdose in a dingy San Francisco hotel room, others have been in rehab)

*Many are alcoholics (Ted and etc)

*Their last great hope was JFK Jr., however he is gone now. He also chose women that were not the smartest cookies in the jar for his companions (ie, his wife, and Darryl Hannah both seemed like they had low IQ's). His wife was also rumored to be a major drug (coke) addict.

*They have no morals whatsoever. (ie, the one that wanted to annul his marriage through the Catholic Church thus making his children illegitimate).

I have a female friend who is a staunch union democrat type and she hates the Kennedys for these reasons.

You have to remember that the Kennedy "clout" is based on the "martyrdom" of J.F.K. -- the sainted king of the ersatz Camelot. In 1963, however, he was well on his way to being a one-termer. He was in Dallas to try to shore up his crumbling support in the "solid" South. Several polls at the time were showing him losing a tight race to Barry Goldwater.

However, since we can't change history, it's going to take another generation, possibly two, to erase the Kennedy myth from the body politic. Heck, it even may take longer. I can imagine a campaign in the year 2070, with somebody saying "My great-great-great-granduncle Robert Kennedy said blah blah blah..."

Ivan, Reno and Reich are not going to be elected. Most likely KKT will not be elected either. Cuomo had to be sacrificed to hitlery's sense of entitlement.....that is, all our blacks belong to her!

Since this loyalty to the clinton's results in NOTHING, one does wonder when the exploited will awaken and realize they are being used.

Is this when Hollywood's facination with skinny, flat-chested women started? With Jackie?

Possibly. It likely began at around the time that women decided "yumminess" was more important than moral deficiencies - like with JFK. ;)

If they had any brains to speak of, they wouldn't be hanging out with the man about whom the term "Arkancide" was coined in the first place. ;)

Since I don't hang out anywhere, I am wondering if America still has the same fascination it once did with the Kennedys?

They seem to have tainted themselves a lot, in addition, they had their Kennedy-esque person...Bill Clinton. So maybe the masses of Kennedy lovers are satisfied with that?

The most frightening thing of all is that people actually believe that the clinton's had JFK,jr. murdered.........

The clinton's quest for power is so ruthless that people will believe anything of them.

For now, the only Kennedy that seems to attact the slightest interest is Caroline. She resides in New York and might be a candidate against Chelsea at some point.

At least no one ever accused the Kennedy's of murdering their POLITICAL opponents.

"Jeb Bush, George W’s brother, is tipped to run for president in 2008 against a newly formidable Hillary Clinton. "

Ivan: I hope that does'nt happen.... For BroomHillerry will win for sure.... Hillery is too Klinton as Groucho is too Harpo.... Serious comedy not slap stick... The democrats would have a field day. Even Bushoholics would feel the hangover, puke, but probably still vote for him.
On second thought maybe Alan Keyes would have a chance then...

I would actually prefer Condi Rice to run in 2008. You lot would do well with an Iron Lady of your own. ;)

Agreed! The article, flawed as it is, failed to mention the escapades of Robert Kennedy, a ghastly, immoral egotist in that immoral crowd of ill-monied trash. Like the Klintoons, I hope they drift into eternal anonimity. As for Hitlery being "newly formidable," that has to be a Brit misprint. She never was and never will be formidable. Newly despicable, perhaps.

Are you serious? Is this just from us (the right), or from actual Kennedy fans?

BTW, I don't think the Clinton's murdered JFK Jr...I just think he had a tragic accident. And agree with what people on the thread have said, he was more conservative than a lot of Dems, and also, he would have won big time. However, the Kennedy's are leaderless now...there's no male heir, that applies to the Clintons too. Although Hillary got a lot of mileage from being first lady, on her own, without Bill would be nothing. Chelsea is showing herself to be an alcoholic (like her father), and gets into embarrassing situations (um, yes I *saw* the embarrassing Sun photos...the Sun photos alone might stop her from ever seeking and winning higher office).

Just general talk about what really happened to JFK,jr. There are always those who believe in conspiracies.

As for Chelsea, her dear father has said she is going to have a career in politics.......so we can expect her to be running in NY......for congress, for sure......Just my opinion! Her bad behaviour will not stop libs from voting for her.

Ah! a woman.... very Interesting... and a black woman at that... I can hear the democrats fumfering for words now.. Steal their thunder eh!... Alan Keyes for Pres with Condi as second... Washington D.C. would never be the same... All the elected black pseudo commies would have a stroke. And the white commies would have a heart attack... the latinos would say to themselves, only in America. The leftist political pundits would take 4 years to stop falling down after Keyes bitch slaps them at every turn.

I think you're on to something here... Nah! it's too logical the RNC would never go for it. Fun thinking about it though.
Cheerio!, old bean.

Instead KKT, as she is known, has stumbled through the campaign, coining the word Hispanish among Latino voters, getting the name of a celebrated racehorse wrong and introducing her running mate as an ambassador rather than an admiral.

LOL! How come this hasn't been blasted all over MSNBC et al as George Bush's gaffes have been ? Perhaps the voters aren't as enamored with the Kennedys' as they once were, but they are clearly still protected by the media.

What is this Clinton dynasty stuff? Gee, they have Hillary a definite candidate in 08. Do they know something we don't (officially) know? That aspect of the story is frightening, indicating we will also face Chelsea in some future run. Yikes!

Ah, but you hang out at FreeRepublic, don't you?

Seriously, though, the fascination is still there; if anything, it's even stronger among the "right" (us) than it is among the "left". Just look at this thread, and all the traffic and commentary threads about Michael Skakel, who technically is not a Kennedy. He does not have one drop of Kennedy blood. On the left, the Kennedys are fading fast. They have been replaced by the more sinister Clintons, Cuomos, and Gores. They will use the Kennedys and quasi-Kennedys as fronts.

Most of the Kennedy brood will content themselves with using the name to set themselves up in semi-government sinecures, like young Joes' ersatz "oil company", which buys oil for distribution to the poor.

As I said in my earlier post, the Kennedys owe their clout to the "martyrdom" of Jack and Bobby. They prey on the gullibility and guilt complex of the American voters and politicians: "Oh! what a horrible nation we are! We killed the Kennedy brothers!". For a contrast, consider Franklin Roosevelt's family. He had a large brood, yet none of them, to my knowledge, has had any influence in Democratic politics, because FDR wasn't a martyr.

Well...true, I do hang out here and with my DH always!

And the reason I asked is because I live in SF, so I really don't know what *normal* people think. Truthfully, like you said, the left looks on them with disdain, from what I see. However, depends on how far left. Your mainstream socialist dems love the Kennedys still...

I think the reason this thread is so long is because we grew up with the American Kennedy obsession/tragedy/conspiracy theory. I think it peaked with the Oliver Stone movie. It was summed up by O.S. in that movie.

At this point they don't have an heir, and we conservatives might be fascinated/horrified by the possibility of another Kennedy. The democrats do not have one. Cuomo's son is not telegenic enough to garner a large number ofvotes, and he's already scandal ridden. Chelsea, again, not telegenic.

Only Gore's oldest daughter might be telegenic enough, but she comes off as a bimbo, and since Gore lost the Presidency his family really doesn't have a chance.

The Bush's have Jeb and also Jeb's son (but he too has had his weird scandals already), and Jeb's daughter is definitely out. Possibly Bush's twins when they are older, might have a chance of carrying on a Bush legacy...but who knows?

Chelsea will never be more than a representative for New York, she's just not telegenic enough for the country (unless she gets a LOT of plastic surgery). Plus she has the appeal of ....an orange. She's got zero charisma, doesn't seem giving, seems very cold.

"not related to Clinton per se, but having worked for him: you have Janet Reno running for office, for example. I think Robert Reich is too. Rahm Emmanuel I also believe is running for office. Etc. etc. - the Clintonista Dynasty is out there already."

You could add the deflated Andrew Cuomo to that group, as well, since he was yet another incompetent member of Clinton's cabinet.

The fact is, the so-called "Clinton dynasty" isn't showing much staying power. Reich and Reno probably won't survive their primaries, Cuomo has already conceded and Emmanuel -- purportedly running for a safe seat -- is the only one of this sorry bunch likely to attain office on his own.
