Should we tolerate intolerance?

In the small, rural town's high school in Maine where I lived (and my two boys graduated from) the Valedictorian (sp?) got accepeted at Brown. She came back a shell of her former self after her first year. The parents (a Doctor and Nurse) were stunned by her transformation into a basket-case. Maybe the diversity police pushed her over the edge?

This steely-eyed Elliot harpy woman plied her trade on impressionable students years and years ago (60's, early 70's?) by separating blue-eyes from brown-eyes in her grammar school classes and pitting them against each other for experimental puposes for a day or so at a time. Why parents didn't pitch a fit back then, I'll never know why. So now she has developed a program for herself and apparently travels all over the country to the more liberal colleges (which is probably every college in existence today -- she must be a multi-millionaire by now), along with the other opportunistic flotsam and jetsom that arrive on orientation day to harangue students in the liberal indoctrination. Do parents pay their salaries too, or is it part of the tuition?

Oh, I've read further and really wish I didn't. "Across the Line" is apparently very popular in one high school district in California (where else?) where students were given escalating questions regarding their acceptance of homosexuality as a viable lifestyle. I believe that parents in that district are suing the school. I'm sure that very soon I'll read that it's being used in middle schools also.

A lot of times, kids come home during the Christmas holidays and spout stuff that shocks their parents. By the end of the spring semester, they usually revert back to their old selves.

I wonder how many of the kids got the "I'm not paying thirty-five grand a year for this sh!t" speech. I'd be happy to hand out copies of it.

The hippies have grown up, are now in charge, and are emulating their heroes Mao, Che, Ho, etc. An optimist would say that the students will see through the BS and the thing will degenerate either into farce or open rebellion. You can be sure that somewhere, on some college campus, some freshman is saying to another, "Hey did you go to the diversity seminar. Was that
gay or what?"
Still, the picture being painted here is not pretty.

The parents were pretty liberal. I was not close with them (I played tennis with them) and I don't know what happened during the holidays but I do know that she gained 30 pounds (by summer) and she did not go back to Brown the next year.

Something happened to her. Date rape? Pregnant? Abortion? Or maybe she just decided Brown wasn't for her (couldn't fit in, didn't want to fit in) and that she'd be just as happy at the local state college?

Some of the kids were in tears. She's a horrible woman.

She might have meant well back then, but she has turned into a horrible opportunistic woman because instead of having blue eyes or brown eyes, she has $-sign eyes. She turned herself into a cottage industry who plies her trade at orientation days at various colleges.

Diversity and homosexual activists are the most intolerant people in the world - no diversity of belief or opinion is allowed. Where do I send my kids to college to completely avoid this mind poison?

"An educated person is taught to be tolerant and open-minded. If you don't put parameters on it, and just talk about openness, acceptance, and tolerance then you can move into gayness and woman's issues." And if you don't agree with us then you certainly don't deserve to be called educated.

I have a friend that spent a little over a year in a Soviet style re-education camp. The stories he told me were chilling. Other than the beatings, these stories of the university diversity training are identical.
Diversity, the opposite of unity.
