The prayer vigils on Free Republic are my first priority. I've been on the receiving end several times - and words cannot express the comfort of knowing that others truly care.

It is humbling to be honored just for doing grunt work. It has always been, and is, a labor of love - but it is so insignificant in comparison to the creative efforts and courageous activism around here. No labor of love is insignificant--and besides, the Lord has a whole different kind of math when it comes to judging the value of each of our work.
You are living proof, as are many many of our fellow FReepers, that one person can indeed make a huge difference.
Have a great day, my friend, and go ahead and bask in the respect and admiration--you deserve it.
Store it up for those days when the task seems thankless. ;-)

I realize how much the forum has changed.
It certainly has, firebrand! Do you remember A Whitewater Researcher and Ed Millar?
AWR preceded us in research and compilation on Free Republic. And Ed provided daily and weekly thread recaps and lots of resources.
I've never seen that kind of commitment on FR-wanna-be sites.
