WASHINGTON (AP) Anti-globalization demonstrators, relatively subdued since the Sept. 11 terror attacks, are preparing a clamorous return to the streets this month when the World Bank and International Monetary Fund meet.
Protest organizers said Tuesday they expect thousands to turn out on the weekend of Sept. 28 outside the Washington headquarters of the global financial institutions. The demonstrators oppose policies they say harm the environment and people in poor countries.

Then you'd be a fool if you admit to falling for the same "spin" you cite...this is an anti-Capitalism March, an anti-America March, a pro-Terror March, just a bunch of RadicalLeftists providing aid and comfort to Osama bil Clinton and Sodom Hussein!! If we are to be discouraged against standing proudly and honorably against THAT, well, we're just a bunch of Keyboard Patriots who shy away from defending the principles that make America great!! And if the Medyuh gets a glimpse of that and tries to portray it in a negative light, we'll just have to win the "spin war" and provide yet another example of their Leftist Bias!!
FReegards...MUD
BTW...I honestly don't think you are a fool.
Thanks for the concern. This is DC... it's dangerous for me just to go to work at night. There are less cops on the street on "normal" nights, so I'm safer when these troublemakers come to town. Cops everywhere, towing cars (and losing them) and such like that.
I am concerned by the way some on here are defining "globalization" as if it is not bad because the WE THE PEOPLES declaration on the UN web page is not complete and in action.
Please keep reading the posts, and check out the links that others have posted. I think you may be misreading some of the comments.
And FR's name on this protest..., going *against* anti-globalization. This may be the only message the media has a hay day with, no matter what posters of the DC chapter may put on poster boards. I am concerned.
Again, thanks for your concern. I think we'll be OK, and we'll do OK. If not, you can string us up at dawn the next day. It's late, I think I'll sign off for now; I'm not sure that there's anything I can say to allay your fears.
And that is your choice. We've done fairly well dispelling the lies of the leftists and America-haters in the past. We'll see how it goes.
As to your previous comment that you'd be marching with them... then you'd be letting them use you to prop up their communist, America hating, violent agenda. That's also your choice.
That looks like my eBay feedback. Thanks!
... apparently, blissfully ignorant that global government won't be democratic.
"Clealy, she didn't see the threads on the free republic site decrying world courts and world taxes," said another freeper. Amazing, isn't it? Here we have pro-government types protesting the expansion of government to the world level and a conservative group most commonly identified with limited government defending the same expansion?
Globalism ain't gonna be democratic.
Moreover, you have a wrong perception of a business person. More that 500,000 business go bancrupt every year. There are plenty of the shops in your local mall that have million dollar inventories and sell a few million dollars of goods in a year. But after the rent is payed and employees' checks are cut, the owner may take home... $20,000.
However, any American that has to "labor" for a living, And any business owner labors more than you do.
has to oppose globalisation, whether he be a republican, democrat or neither of the two...
Another misunderstanding. You participate in this economy not only as labor but as a consumer as well. Every time I get smaller salary YOU benefit by lower prices. So, retire this socialist propaganda please --- about the rich and the poor, the "owners" and the "workers."
You want to know more about this? Take a course in your local college. See how economy functions and what globalbization actually means.
The problem is precisely the opposite of what you think: American workers are overpaid and are increasingly underqualified. You refuse to continue your education at night in a local college, yet expect a pay raise every year. Well, eventually there is no bag from which to pay you. That's the reason businesses seek labor elsewhere. Dress it up any way you want, but I will never support it... It is your prerogative, of course.
In the end though, who cares? The DCPD is so inept and corrupt that it's probably best that they have nothing to do with the event. It's not like Washingtonians don't expect depraved violence every single day anyway. That burg makes Detroit look like New York City.
Impossible to let go isn't it? Yeah, go watch some more TV. That'll do the trick.
does not mean the media will not twist this to FR as being pro-globalization.As proven by many Freepers twisting this to the DC Chapter being pro-globalization.
