Pat Sajak, U. S. Marine, Vietnam vet and gave boucoup bucks to the new hospital recently completed in Annapolis Maryland; in fact enough to get a wing (more like a building) named in his honor. I think he's "gotten it" for quite a while.

Pat's one great American I must say...

Thanks for the post.
As an Annapolis resident myself, I could not begin to describe all of the wonderful things the Sajak family has done for our community. Pat is a believer in family and community values in all of the finest sense of those words, and he puts his money where is mouth is.

A very interesting post. Thanks, Liz. BTW --
Speaking of silly, Alec Baldwin, an actor, recently compared the election of George W. Bush to the terrorist attacks of last September.
According to the NY Post, even Senator Hillary Clinton was distanced herself from that remark when Alec asked her, directly and publicly at a luncheon, if she agreed with him. Apparently, she did not. (Or, she did not want to agree publicly with him.)
After that, Alec's speech at the FL Dem Party State Convention was missing from the Dem Party web site - the only speech not posted, despite the fact he was the big featured celebrity host of the evening activities.
I think Alec should be taking a much harder look at himself in the mirror these days. He often comes across so out of touch he seems to stun even Hillary Clinton.

I think we need to hear a lot more from the Pats of Hollywood, and a lot less from the Alecs.
To: Liz
Wow! Did not know that.

I knew that Pat Sajak was a conservative and supported Republican candidates (he was visible during the 2000 campaign) but I didn't know he is a proud citizen of Annapolis, MD.
My son is stationed there in the Navy and we visited this summer. I'll send him a copy of this.

It is a bias based on the sameness of worldview caused by social, intellectual, educational and professional inbreeding. Thats a great line... intellectual inbred

That "small town outside Annapolis" is my hometown. I actually met Mr.Sajak when he called in a pick up order at the restaurant we were eating at. He walked in, stood quietly at the bar waiting for his order, nodded and and smiled at us,got his order and left in his own car. I didnt know he was one of us at the time, but the fact that he ordered his own food, acknowledged us and drove his own car was refreshing for Hollyweird. I was thrilled to find out his leanings matched mine. Incidently, he married the sister of one of classmates at Crofton Junior High.

My error....of course Reiner has no brain to lipo....just a vast emptiness filled with fecal matter. That's why they call Reiner....oh, well you know......

Nice article by Pat...
Might sum up Hollywood by two words:
Group think!
or maybe:
Mental inbreeding.

Excellent! It sounds as if he had this on his mind for a long time. I wish more people could read this.

Pat Sajak was host of National Review's 40th Anniversary in 1995, which was celebrated by a dinner cruise in New York harbor (and a fireworks show to mark Bill Buckley's birthday). The host for NR's 45th, also a dinner cruise -- Rush Limbaugh.
