You forgot to mention our beautiful road cuts with layers upon layers upon layers of exposed sedimentary and fossiliferous strata, each one an ecological zone. (OK, one of the best ones in the region is actually over in Maryland.)

The absolute best I've seen is on US 23 near Jenkins Kentucky. It is a rainbow, fresh cut and mostly unweathered.
