I have been trying to "update" my profile in Free Republic this morning.
Now, when I click "ok" it puts all the HTML with NO pictures on my BOOKMARK page.
The follow errors is what I need help with because I do not understand what FR is trying to tell me:
HTML Error Summary
HTML Error Summary
|
Count |
Tag |
Attribute |
Error |
Correction |
6 |
P |
STYLE |
invalid attribute |
remove attribute |
The above errors must be corrected before your HTML will be accepted. Try selecting the "HTML - Auto Corrected" option from the Format menu. |
|
I need to know what Count - Tag - Error and Correction means. And what does Attribute mean?????
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me. I am stumped.

Actually, I have had my profile in there since 2001. With pictures and links, etc. Today, I thought "Well, I need to update my profile." I went in, updated, and when I hit OK, it took me right back to my bookmark page. :(
I am very depressed. I should have left it alone, but I wanted to put the logo for Maine's future Governor in there.
What does "attributes" mean?

It looks to me that you want to post some pics in your profile. Here's what you do for that...
The general case for images is < img src="URLofPicHere" > without the spaces between the "<" and ">".
Example:
< img src="http://www.hostfile.com/home/darlene/sl10.gif" > yields:

For one thing, you need to make your links look like this:
<A href="http://www.freerepublic.com">http://www.freerepublic.com</A>
You should also put a space after your <P> tags.

Yeah, show us your code. Be sure to place a space in each tag so the browser won't interpret it as actual HTML code. For example, < img src="whatever"> instead of <img src="whatever"> or < a href="whatever">site< /a> instead of <a href="site">site</a>
Betcha wonder how I did that, right? ;-)

I don't see any < IMG SRC="XXX.com" > on your home page source.

And do what CyberLiberty said for your picture links. The big thing though is putting in a space after your paragraph tags.

Oh! I have been posting .gifs and .jpgs for a long time.
