And I believe that one should give credit when they plagiarize Steve Martin routines.

"No, we do not have a benign or benevolent foreign policy"
Maybe not benign but benevolent? If you don't think we have a benevolent foreign policy you must have dropped in here from Mars.
And what's so bad about an active fp? If we had run out of oil in the early '90's all the leftists would have been screaming for the "gooooverrrrnmeennnt" to do something.

"Do you really think we are going to invade Iraq out of concern for the Iraqi people?"
Hell no. The liberation of the Iraqi people is an additional benefit we garner for protecting the likes of you from another terrorist attack.

We routinely interfere in the internal affairs of other states when it serves our interests. The key phrase is "our interests". What is wrong with that? I am an American citizen and I want our government looking out for "our" interests. I do not believe in world government. I do not believe the UN is a firend. I believe the UN is a front for world socialism.

We routinely interfere in the internal affairs of other states when it serves our interests. Damn straight! That's why we're the big guy on the block!

But you must agree that the US gives away more for the greater good of the world than any other nation on the face of the earth. That is being benevolent.

Just like when I protected the likes of you when I served in the military. Oh. Were you in the military, John? When? What branch? Did you enlist?
I was in the 3rd Bn., 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine Div., Viet Nam, 1968.

"Nothing. Just don't call it benevolent or benign, because that is not factually accurate"
It is benevolent and proactive. And pray tell, who are all of these horrible people the US annointed?

Don't act holier than thou about the military around here. Most of us, including me, are veterans.

Yes"
And shortly before that he graduated from high school where he learned the definition of "benign".

Thanks for serving your country. What did you do.
