Warning to all Republicans on campus at Cornell -- to paraphrase the Gipper:
"In ten seconds we begin the bombing of the Soviet Union Cornell University."

This heavy-handed, black-and-white picture of the world fails to acknowledge the incredible diversity of opinions, complexity of interactions, and tolerance of others that exists in today's social and political life. If 'painting' a black and white picture is offensive, I wonder how this person feels about rape? I mean wouldn't it be heavy-handed as well to bluntly state it is wrong? If there is no right and wrong to issues but varying levels of responsibility, how could a person claim rape is totally wrong?
I believe she will declare this issue wrong (and rightly so), as well as a hole host of other issues ranging from guns to hate crime legislation. Only when regarding conservative issues and statements are 'incredible diversity of opinions' needed.

While it is possible that this message was not chalked by a Cornell Republican
If the chalking was not formally condoned by the Republicans' leadership, then I doubt your abilities to control your own members' militancy for their cause. This use of exclusion, belittlement, and fear tactics is unbecoming of a major political organization and should be immediately rectified. Poor logic. Assuming it was done by a republican ignores the possibility of a liberal, perhaps this writer herself, of planting the message in order to have something to be offended at.

From her webpage:
Welcome to me.For those of you who are here because you already know me, thank you and congrats on finding the page. For those of you who have no or very little idea who I am, here's a brief synopsis:
Carla Winston
Sophomore, Cornell University, Government and International Relations Major
Age 19, Birthday Slope Day 2001 (Cornellians, is that not cool or what?)
Originally from Baltimore, MD, but I hold dual American and Canadian citizenship (Yay Canada!)
I enjoy long walks on the beach, moonlit picnics....
What is slope day? Some sort of twisted oriental holiday at Cornell?
How dreadfully un-pc.

As neither a Republican nor a terrorist (and incidentally not a Cornell Democrat either), I can safely say that this chalking has permanently turned me away from your organization. Surely this is disingenuous. This overly dramatic, self-important sentence seems calculated to imply that this fragile, open-minded flower might have looked with favor on the Cornell Republicans, if only she hadn't come upon the grisly horror of a picture of the American flag and a statement of loyalty to it in the face of adversity.
I'd lay odds that this is not true; that, Cornell Democrat or not, her beliefs and premises and sensibilities and inclinations make her a Democrat at heart.

Coutler: The Interview
Author
Joe Sabia
Date

This was an inside article appearing in the Coulters Confederacy issue.
Coutler: The Interview
On May 1, 2001, Cornell Review founder Ann Coulter 85 sat down with former Review Chairman Joe Sabia to discuss her opinions on a wide range of topics from Africana Studies Departments to Matt Drudge. A transcript of Mr. Sabias interview appears below.
Joe Sabia (JS): Thanks so much for taking the time to speak with us, Ann.
Ann Coulter (AC): My pleasure. Shoot with your first question.
JS: Why did you decide to become involved with the founding of The Cornell Review in 1984?
AC: There was an oppressive left-wing environment [on campus] and I was friends with some kids who wanted to found the paper. I wrote that first article...and it was funny because it was about pornography, but Im a cultural conservative, so it was not pro-pornography. All the feminists on campus thought I was a feminist because at that particular point in their genesisthey go back and forth on whether theyre pro-pornography or anti-pornographyat that moment they happened to be anti-pornography, so I was being invited to all of these left-wing vegetarian collectives. And then suddenly, WHAM!, they made me the editor in chief. And, oh, then the feminists didnt like me anymore.

Brilliant. We really need to make a big time effort to encourage college Republican groups to become FReepers. They are not alone. I'd love to see FReeps on campuses, or is it campi? That would be a wonderful thing. Unfortunately, with all the viciousness freepers are showing towards one another lately, I'm hesitant to recommend that anyone visit the site. It is truly discouraging.

Yes, I admit it. When I chalked President Bush's quote, I was indeed trying to exclude, belittle, and instill fear in the hearts of terrorist supporters. And something about Ms. Winston's hysteria makes me believe that I made my point. *ROTFL*!!! Utterly brilliant. A killing blow so deft that the victim may not even realize they've been fatally skewered. "It's just a flesh wound."
Game, set, and match.
Give this man the Quote of the Day award.

Another example of the liberal Cycle of Censorship(tm):
(1) Claim tolerance for all viewpoints
(2) Wait for a conservative viewpoint to appear
(3) Censor it
(4) Repeat
