Daisy, you can find a picture of my husband when he was a youngster in the Marine Corps. He served in Korea and was stationed in Japan for a while. He trained at San Diego with the 459th Platoon. After he returned stateside he was at Camp Lejeune. He served 6 years and gained the rank of Sergeant.

Thanks Billie! I didn't get back to my computer until afternoon, so I didn't see your note. We're gonna have a lazy vacation. We don't have family here, so we don't have lots of folks coming and going. We might see about getting some friends over for a cookout on Monday. We'll see how it goes; we may just veg and hang out with just the two younger ones left at home (the older boys are away at college).

Hope your weekend is a good one, too!

Who all has special plans for Labor Day? We don't usually do anything. It's too hot for cooking out or picnics.

That is one of my all-time favorite pictures. My son does newborn portraits similar to this for all the newborn babies at the two local hospitals. There is a gift certificate in all the new baby packets. He takes the newborn nestled in the father's hand. People just love it. In fact, I think I'll see if I can scan one to someone to post (I'm proud of my son too)(g).
