A Gainesville neurologist affiliated with the University of Florida was arrested early Tuesday morning after police found heads, brains, arms and other body parts in his house.

Joseph James Warner, 49, was charged with storage/preservation of human remains and with domestic battery.

Gainesville Police detectives early Tuesday afternoon were investigating where Warner got the parts and who they were, sources said.

Police were called to Warner's home at 3211 NW 38th St. late Monday night. Warner's wife, Debra G. Warner, told police they got involved in a dispute and that she was punched in the face and thrown into glass wall by Warner.

According to an arrest report, Debra Warner told police that various body parts could be found in the house.

"I also noticed three human brains contained within jars (in a solution) in plain view," wrote the officer. "The defendant stated he conducted research at his home, including dissections of human and animal body parts. The defendant showed us two human heads, numerous human brains, spines and various other parts contain within jars. The defendant also had a human shoulder with an arm attached in a ... container inside of the car garage."

The report notes that Warner told officers he had three rooms containing body parts but did not have a license to store or preserve these items in his home.

"The defendant also had a human shoulder with an arm attached..."

Pretty wierd guy, but I'd say the Second Amendment applies here.

"Pretty wierd guy, but I'd say the Second Amendment applies here. "

On a serious note, consider what an RKBA defense could generate here. The court would have to rule on an interpretation of the actual grammer contained in the 2nd amendment. It doesn't say weapons, firearms, flintlocks or sabres...it says arms. Just like it says people.

And the government would acknowledge the right, but argue that the Constitution only grants it to the National Guard.
