It was another great day on the North East and South West corners of Mulberry and College in Ft. Collins. Here is the cast of this week's main event.
Freepers in attendance this week were:
RMRattlesnake and family
Trteamer
Softengine her two boys and two of their friends
CardCarryingMember.VastRightWC and one child
fivetoes and family
There were several members of the VFW Post 1781, Joe, Jim, Harry and several others.
Paul, the bagpiper of the Fife and Drum Corps along with the young drummer.
We were joined by a couple of other folks and encouraged by passersby in great numbers. It is always welcome to hear hoots and hoorays and seeing the waving as people pass.
The antis numbers were about the same as last week.
My bullhorn was in full swing this week and I was a little more passionate than in weeks past. Besides using the quotes from last week I read a detailed list of all of the terrorist attacks since the mid 1970's along with the body count, number of injuries and responsible parties of each attack. I then went into an attack mode of my own charging 'them' with supporting Islamic terrorism. I even qoted from their web site.
I am convinced that many of their supporters do not know who they are standing on the corner with and they have a urgent need and desire to be educated.
Trteamer held the lone vigil on the South West corner and did a great job.
Here is the photo essay for the week.
Freeper, CardCarryingMember.VastRightWC is holding what he said was his first sign, made many moons ago. It seems as though this same group unaffectionately described as 'them' has been prostesting U.S. miltary action for a couple of decades. Their determination to protect us from war it seems depends upon who is Commander in Chief
RMRattlesnake and his wife face them.
Freeper Softengine has joined in the fun activity of making her own sign. It is a two sided sign. The other side encourages drivers to honk if they love liberty and freedom. I would encourage freepers to take the time to make their own signs. It extends your freeping attitude.
A shot of the good guys
Here is a shot of fivetoes' wife and four of the ten kids. I think they were a wee bit shell shocked at the passion I was exposing from the bullhorn. They should know better from the good ole million mommy days.
Softengine brought her boys a couple of their friends along. They wasted no time getting into the spirit.
Here is Trteamer. If he continues to stand on this corner we'll have to start calling him the Good Time Guy.
Here is what we had to look at.
Softengine faces off against them with enthusiasm.
Anyway, I had a good time as did the rest of the folks on the 'sunny side of the street'.

Say hey to tentoes for me. And the little ones too.
THANK YOU ALL FOR THE TIME AND EFFORT YOU PUT INTO SUPPORTING REAL AMERICA.
OK, folks. How come I'm just now finding out about this?!?!
Henry Bowman's right hand tightened around the walnut grip of the Solothurn S18-1000. The weapon had been a present from his Father, given to him on his fourteenth birthday in 1967. Cost $189.50 back in the sixties Henry thought irrelevantly. I thought that was a steal. Dad's friends thought it was astronomical. Wonder what they'd think now. --UC
Very good question Randall. I asked myself the same question back in the beginning of June. Freeper CardCarryingMember.VastRightWC had informed through an email that this had been going on since right after 9/11/01. Why didnt I know about this sooner? When I decided to get involved he reminded me that he had told me a month earlier. I checked and sure enough he had.
So why did I think that I had not been informed of it? It was a matter of priorities. Other issues had clouded my vision and blocked me from seeing what was right in front of me. This whole War on Terrorism is enormous and painfully overwhelming. We run around wondering how can we be effective? What can we do to make a difference?
I still don't know if protesting the anti american anti war protesters is the most effective use of my time. Perhaps I will never know, but one thing I do know is that I and a handful of others are 'doing something' besides sitting around wondering what we can do.
The bigger question and one of much more importance is now that you have 'found out about this', what are you going to do about it? It is easier for me to understand and overlook the blind sheeple and wonder when will they wake up and see the light than it is to wonder why those who see and do nothing, well, do nothing.
Don't wait for someone else to get involved! Here is a link Operation Infinite Freep: Know your Enemy . Find out who these folks are and what they are up to in a neighborhood near you, gather some like minde individuals and face them.
We will be thinking of you next weekend while we are at the ranch in Salida.....horseback riding, hot springs, and home cookin'!
But we'll be back in the game the following week. I am working on two more signs that I feel will effectively, and directly, refute some (sign) arguments they've made.
Seeing the dancing macarena twins, chubbs 1 and chubbs 2, really fired me up. It would be a shame to allow this to turn into an adolescent shouting match, but the dancing just completely unhinges me. And that is knowing full well the remarkable disrespect they are capable of when it comes to the ideals upon which this nation was founded and truly stands for, the sacrifice that built it and the respect due that sacrifice.
I owe fivetoes a big thanks for getting me involved. For too long I saw what was happening all around me and did nothing. Then I found FreeRepublic and started posting. But introspection led me to take a more active role in trying to salvage this wonderful country we have. Now I see AND I DO something. Fivetoes gave me the push I needed. And all you Colorado Freepers give me the incentive to continue......be it in vain or not.
Thank you.
