Union hunchoes pissing on us and telling us it's raining. They oppose free trade because it makes available cheaper and better goods&services than what overpaid unionized slackers will ever produce.

the U.S. government supported a corrupt and financially incompetent political regime in Mexico

And James Carville! Don't forget the Ragin' Cajun was down there campaigning for the corrupt PRI.

Compete or die folks, it's that simple. If you can't compete with Mexican labor then get out of the needle trades. And if the Mexican government isn't enforcing its own labor laws then that is a matter for the Mexican voters to handle.

How can any rational person think that competing with slave labor is good for our country? Are you willing to be put in that position? Or are you just so happy with your $49 VCR that you don't care. You'd better wake up and smell the coffee while you can still afford it.

Yep, those low price goods help the unemployment checks stretch further.

"What does UNITE! want?"
Money!

When do they want it?
Now!

The question is: where does it get its money? I guaran-damn-tee you UNITE! doesn't give a flying fig about the poor oppressed people of Outer BFE.

Just like Greenpeace, PETA, The Sierra Club and every other left-wing wacko fringe group, all they care about is fattening their own wallets. And their lunacy ultimately ends up harming the very people they expect us to believe they care about.

At least the multi-national corporations they despise provide goods or services in exchange for their greedy quest for profits. What does UNITE! provide besides more class envy?

To hell with UNITE!....and take Canada with you.

We can send the jobs the US will lose anyway down to Mexico which spends 70% of its foreign trade dollars on U.S. goods & services, or we can let them go to Asia which spends merely 10% on U.S. goods and services. Unfortunately for Mexico, around 1 in 5 factories there have already relocated to Asia in the past year alone, as China's now a member of the WTO. Hopefully economic pressures to be competitive will push the Chinese govt. to open up more to public input, just as Mexico impressively became much more democratic largely thanks to NAFTA.

What makes you think a 1400 page document bears any relationship to free trade? The name?
