Tule Fog in the Central Valley
clear, calm nocturnal conditions encourage radiational cooling
air in contact with the ground is cooled by conduction
this air becomes denser than the air around it and slides into hollows and valleys
Central Valley is therefore the site of massive banks of tule fog
I learn so much here at FR it amazes me.
What's this about the boonies? I love eating in the boonies - they have to have great chow or the locals will stay away in droves.
Thank you for rallying for America. JL

It's like playing Russian Roulette to go out in that fog when it is bad....and it is bad all through the winter here.

I have been to the Sherwood Inn many times, and the food is good, but the atmosphere is even better!
