Good morning, special person. :-)

That Alaskan sunset is beautiful. When I was there, I didn't see anything like that. It was cloudy and overcast everyday......and freezing cold, even though it was July! I admire the tough, rugged people who live up there. Beautiful state, nice to visit....don't think I could live there though, not this desert rat.

Leaving Eielson AFB at 0001 on 1 June 1966, by 0130 we had to put on sunglasses, driving in a southeasterly direction toward Canada!

I absolutely loved the fact the sun never set from mid-May to mid-August!
There was a kind of twilight for about an hour and a half, but only then did any house lights need to be on.
Men coming off duty at midnight went to play softball or fish or any normal activity.
