Given that the illegal invasion in California and much of the country has come from our neighbor to the south, and being the Mexicans are considered "Hispanic", I think that it is only fair to show general graphic displays of the invasion.
For the following pictures, you will need to know what each color represents. Thus,, here is the key.
1990
Beige 0.0%-16.6% Hispanic
Yellow 16.7%-33.2% Hispanic
Green-Yellow- 33.4%-53.0% Hispanic
Olive Green- 53.3%-75.2% Hispanic
Forest Green- 75.5%-100.0% Hispanic
2000
Beige 0.0%-18.5% Hispanic
Yellow 18.6%-36.2% Hispanic
Green-Yellow 36.3%-55.6% Hispanic
Olive Green 55.7%-76.4% Hispanic
Forest Green 76.4%-98.4% Hispanic
Check out the size and scope of the invasion as it has manifested itself over the years in the LA area, and compare each LA area from 1990 to 2000.
LA Central 1990
LA Central 2000
LA East 1990
LA East 2000
LA Southeast 1990
LA Southeast 2000
LA North 1990
LA North 2000
LA West/Far West 1990
LA West/Far West 2000
Given that the numbers are slightly differentiating, the contrast between 1990 and 2000 is somewhat weakened. However, despite the number variation, the contrasts can clearly be seen.
No, and seriously, I want to visit Prague. I understand the cultural significance of that city going back to the 1400s. It's a really beautiful city I understand, when it's not under water.
But, it's not a European or Third World choice. We are neither. We have an American Culture, it is distinct and unique and powerful, and it is fueled by the dynamic vitality that new American immigrants escalate and benefit through their involvement and energy and motivation.
No, Europe is moribund and paralyzed and lethargic. A person born in Italy can become a fully accepted American, but an American born person can never really become an Italian. Or French. Or Swiss.
That's our winning edge. American culture is founded upon very sacrosanct pillars of individual freedom, personal industry and responsibility, shared ethics of hard work, family and God, and a common fellowship transcending ethnicity, race and religion. And I don't fear the Mexican contribution to this precious mix, it will be every bit as empowering and postitive as all immigrant contributions have been to the American family since day one.
We NEED to get full and well conceived control over the movement of everyone crossing our borders. If we make the inevitable movement of guest workers from Mexico legal, supervised yet easy, less people will choose to cross the Rio Bravo at midnight during a new moon. But, all issues surrounding the influx wil be mitigated if we first obliterate the cynical and destructive incentives to come here that ill-willed political operators are dangling in front of indigent and good willed foreign nationals. That's the kill shot, not pretending we can do a Elliot Ness roustabout to net the millions that are here among us now.
By the way, that bastion of European civilization you offered (The Czech Republic) has a GDP of $115 billion, which is less than the Gross State Product of about 30 of our United States. The Gross Domestic Product of the United States is over $10 trillion annually from a population of 270 million. Italy is $1.1 trillion from 58 million Italians. France is 1.3 trillion from 60 million. Germany is $1.8 trillion GDP from 83 million population. The UK is $1.2 trillion from 60 million. Netherlands $348 billion from 15 million. Spain has 40 million people, and they do $650 billion GDP annually. Greece has 11 million folks and they produce $143 billion annual. That's a population of 327 million Europeans in those 7 countries producing about $5.2 (half of the US) trillion in GDP with 50 million more people. I like our position and system, thank you very much.
The American mix and match thing works. It always has, and it always will as long as we keep the lefty Government goblins from corrupting our system. That's the job of each and every one of us, on a local level, every day and through individual and grass roots bust-your-butt effort.
The yellow brick road to the American dream is not for you, me or anyone else to shut down. We need to manage the traffic, but it is open for passage, now then and forever.
The primary flaw with your plan is that citizens of successful cultures and nations generally are happy to stay where they are.
I am taking liberties here, but I would offer that our Freeper friend MadIvan is proud to be an Englishman, he has a rewarding cultural bond with his countrymates and he has a visceral investment in his homeland that is about roots and history and community. I bet he likes being an Englishman, living in peace and prosperity in England. Why wouldn't he? Germans like being Germans in Germany. The Swiss are not sneaking across the Canadian Border. We aren't catching the Royal Family of Monaco hiding in Orange Crates on Panamanian freighters docking in Charleston.
People who are poor, oppressed, desperate and seriously committed to leave a life of hopelessness and misery for one of opportunity and prosperity are going to come here. All the blonde haired, blue eyed folks who aren't here are happily living their lives quaffing litres of ale and playing cribbage in Stockholm, Rotterdam and Hamburg. The Spanish love their country, the Italians like their way of life, the French are the French. That's all good.
So, we will be the destination of hope and well being for people from Somalia, Hmongs from Cambodia and Laos, Mexicans, Haitans, Indonesians, Chinese and Koreans.
The Norwegians are staying in Oslo. Ivan has his pub mates and his Page 3 girls. They're not coming here for freedom or economic salvation anymore. They're doing well, and they like being who they are. Sorry.
The Spanish Empire settled along the coast LONG before the whites got TO the left coast. And that IS an Hispanic culture.
I suggest you should read world history some before you stick your feet so far in your mouth your knees hurt.
Evolution...porno science---Dr. Westerfields??
Not interested!
Yes, he will. Either that or post a meaningless picture.
Well, just for the record, it's not OK with me. I get really mad every time I see a foriegn flag flying on American soil. I don't care wether it is on private property or not. Doesn't make it right.
Agreed 100%. And, no offense, but Italian-Americans are just as bad.
Agreed. I've only gotten as far as about post #200 so far, but if Joe has been removed from this discussion, it is a real loss.
I wonder if the Yucatan version of FreedomsFriend is on some web site going ape sh*t over that.
The entire premise underlying this thread is bogus. So what if between 65%-95% of some sector in the South LA map is Hispanic? It tells us nothing. Maybe it's an industrial park and 4 of the 5 residents there are Guatamalan. Percentages are useless absent numerical context and proportion.
The working truth that there is a massive influx of Mexicans clambering over our borders has never been documented to my satisfaction. How do you count the unaccountable? Joe Hadenauf saw 3 Mexican looking guys eating lunch at Carl Jrs. on Tuesday, and there were 4 of them there on Friday, so let's just extrapolate that 25% daily surge across LA and Orange County, and prorate that immigrant invasion over a year - that's how we get the assumption that there are between 175-200 million illegaly resident Mexicans who are now eyeing my car in El Monte?
According to Census data, there was a 10 million person increase in our Hispanic population between 1990-2000. There was an 8 million Hispanic citizen increase between 1980 and 1990. No big change. There are 32 million Hispanic Americans according to our 2000 census. 19-20 million are Mexican Americans. 226 million of our 275 million American population are White folk. The news of the extinction of White Folk is greatly exaggerated. Projections have hinted that by 2050, there will be a Hispanic American population of roughly 98 million. Hispanics will then comprise 25% of our population, whites will comprise 53%, African Americans 15% and Asian Americans about 9%. Lot's of mixed breeds in there too, I'd surmise. Scary stuff, eh?
California has about 11 million Hispanics in its populace (32% of total population) as of 2000. Texas has 6 million Hispanic residents (30.2%), Arizona has a million or so (22%) and New York has 2.5 million, but I doubt many are Mexican "invaders". Ditto the 2.5 million in Florida.
So, where's the invasion? The growth in population is no doubt significantly comprised of children borne by Hispanic citizens. Those maps that FreedomFriend presented would naturally show the demographic concentrations expected to reflect a population density of 11 million people. That population is larger than all but 4 or 5 of our largest States.
By the way, the invasion FreedomFriend sees in Georgia comes to a whopping 3.1% Hispanic population share of the whole as of 2000. And, they all play for the Braves.
I think the numbers and scope of the illegal immigrant infiltration in this country is as reliable, and politically pure, as those old homeless counts or the number of participants in one of those "Million Moron" marches on the Mall. It's all hyperbole.
Some folks here just don't like the fact that 20 million Mexicans are here legally, so they are demogauging the threat and extent of some Mexican swarm in the millions mambo stepping across the border. Carrying Aficanized killer bees no less. Nobody knows how many illegals are here. If you don't like Hispanic people, it's a free country, you can avoid leaving your house ever and change the channel when "Chico and the Man" comes on Nickelodeon "TV Heaven" cable channel. But if the most vociferous opponents are rebuffed in their efforts to redress their grievences, yet continue to linve in Southern California, Arizona or Texas while harboring that angst ... they're either not serious about their concerns or they are not serious about their quality of life.
The problem is solvable. Nuke the welfare and reinvent the admittance process to a mere semblance of what is considered a professionally engineered process in the real world of guys and gals who have to sell stuff that works.
