Sharpton has been railing over the number of black men in prison, many for non-violent crimes such as drug use. This is the perfect case for him.

If I were doing a litmus test for nominees for judgeships, I'd ask them how they interpret the phrase in the oath of office about doing equal justice to rich and poor.

I get sick of prosecutors and judges who seem to think, "The defendant got some bad press and was suspended from his country club for six months. He's been punished enough."

Really. He could argue reparations by demanding that she perform community service in the form of conjucal visits.

Harlan Goldberg, New York ad exec Ligament damage in leg, facial injuries $5 million Accuses Grubman of unsafe driving, does not claim she caused accident intentionally.

Adam Wacht, a record producer Broken leg and ankles $30 million Wife also a plaintiff; suit alleges damage to their marital relations.

Leslie Arnold and Shari Goldsmith, NYC lawyers Arnold suffered a fractured pelvis and broken arm; Goldsmith claims to be "lame and disabled" from unspecified injuries $35 million Accuses Grubman of "negligence, carelessness and recklessness."

Robyn Rosenblum Says she was "rendered sick, sore, lame and disabled" from the accident $20 million Claims Grubman was intoxicated, accuses club of making her "enraged and angry"

Jennifer Salant Does not specify her "serious injury" $20 million Says Grubman was guilty of "reckless and intentional assault"

Sarah Thorne Fractured ribs, loss of consciousness $10 million Says the injury resulted from the "negligence, recklessness, carelessness, and culpability" of Grubman.

Dabney Mercer Does not specify her "serious injury" $7 million Says she was rendered "sick, sore, lame, and disabled" by the crash. Read responses to Mercer's suit from Lizzie Gruman and her father, Allen Grubman.
