This is just like the "why they hate us" whining after Sept. 11. Yes, the "system" made Catalino Morales invade a neighbor's home and hold a family of four hostage with a gun, and it was the "system" that is to blame for "shootings in courtrooms, lawyers and judges taken bloody to ambulances."
And this is the worst twaddle of all: By the late 1990s life had become so desperate for a few divorced men (in more than one country) suffering psychologically from the loss of their children and constant harassment that they took guns into day-care centers and held children hostage. Do you now understand how it feels, they asked before being gunned down by police snipers.
What about the child molester who himself was molested as a child? By all means we must support him, because after all he was just trying to say to his victims "Do you now understand how it feels?" Catalino Morales and the others described in this article are not real men. Not even close.

If you are going to be self-promoting yourself here, then try to do so without the hyperbole about Stalinism and how the Constitution is now dead and how the state is equally at guilt as the cop-killer is, as you did on the other thread. It only serves to marginalize yourself.

Add to that years of harassment and threats from a long list of strangers, including half-witted pimple-faced high school drop-outs trying to collect to make a commission and female bureaucrats, possibly former welfare mothers, who revel in the opportunity to emasculate men. The choir has left the building and this is pure dribble. Address the real problems and leave out the hype.

Good grief. We all know that, for the most part, the system is unfair to fathers paying child support. I know because I am one.
However, you could've picked better examples than cop-shooters and kidnappers - sheesh. I really don't have pity for these guys. The article portrays fathers who can't keep up with payments as mentally unstable.

Paying child support and PROUD of it! I love my kid and his mom is cool too.

Morales then entered a house in the neighborhood I'm sorry the homeowner didn't have a gun handy. Could've saved his family four hours of terror.

I got a story for anone who is interested- In New York State I filed for divorce. My ex was diagnosed mentally ill and the COURTS OWN doctor recommended I have SOLE custody and she not even be allowed overnight visitation.
After that she insisted on a trial and bashed herself in the head and had me arrested on assault charges and removed fromthe home. The children witnessed it. I also had eyewitnesses that I was not even home at the time. This backfired on her and the kids began living with me for the next 2 years.
She had a 15 year history of child abuse and neglect, and had her children taken away from her in the past (before I met her) by CPS.
Her two older boys are diagnosed with behavioral problem and one was arrested on a felony charge.
One of my daughters was HOSPITALIZED FOR NEGLECT DURING THE TRIAL after going to her house for a weekend visitation.
So..
New York State Supreme Court Judge John O'Donnel took them out of my home and gave them back to the diagnosed psychopath and ordered me to pay almost $2000 a month child support AFTER I had already filed bankruptcy due the the arrest and loss of my job and all the money she stole.

Morales shoots at people, takes hostages, and he's the 'poster child' for wronged dads? I hope that's not the best they can do.

And people wonder why younger men like me don't want to get married or have children.
Probably because most of us would rather live alone than to be someone's slave.
As long as government continues this double-standard, they are shorting their already short lifespan, until it all collapses.
Should I live long enough to see it, I might father children after this hypocritical conjob we call government has collapsed.
Most of what was good about this country has ALREADY been destroyed by socialists on BOTH the right and the left sides of politics.

He is a father. He is a man.He is a boob. He is a petulent child in a man's body. He is a suckling clinging to the teat of victimhood. You are his nanny enabler.
I know real men, including some who have been divorced and faithfully make child support payments and otherwise provide for their children. They are nothing like this boob.

>>...eight deputies in Lehigh county Pennsylvania broke into Catalino Morales' home to serve an arrest warrant charging him with failure to make child support payments...<<
Yet if the mother takes the support money and buys booze and cigarettes will they break down HER door?
Too often child support ends up being "lifestyle support" for the mother.
(I'm not condoning Morale's actions, by the way)

Mr. Gay has been writing such drivel (dare I say dribel? ;->) at custodial parents' and mothers' boards for many years. He's screaming copyright infringement elsewhere as I post this. His crossing over to Free Republic was just too funny as my hubby is a poster here, while I post most frequently regarding divorce related issues...our paths have crossed. Mr. Gay is one of the fanaticals who want to bully their way across the web with their own brand of justice. He's the perpetual victim.
I know that had I, as a custodial parent (who Mr. Gay would tell you is a money grubbing bitch) gone on a shooting rampage because the system and my ex were both IMHO unfair to me, Mr. Gay would undoubtedly say I got what I deserved. Well Mr. Gay, Morales got what he deserved. But you already knew that. I think you simply like seeing your name behind articles that are best left in the waste basket.

Since I'm becoming known on FR for being pro-fathers rights and debate child support/fathers issues quite a bit, I have to respond to this article.
I can not condone in anyway violent acts made by even the most desperate men. Though I have seen men stripped of their homes, their possessions, 60%+ of their earnings, their tax returns, their credit standing, their children and their freedom, using violence as a means to an end does nothing to further the cause of fathers rights. It does however give the fathers rights movement a black eye when such behavior takes place.
Aside from being pro-fathers, I am also pro-life. My pro-life position follows the same as my pro-fathers, I can not condone in anyway bombing of abortion clinics or the murder of abortion doctors. While I realize those incidents are actually rare compared to the number of clinics and doctors performing abortions, it does and has happend. In the end all it does is give ammunition to those who look for any reason to call pro-life people/groups nutcases and violent people. The same for fathers who use violence to protest the current unjust, unconstitutional and highly biased family court/child support system.

The absolute worst situation I have heard about is where a man is shown through DNA to NOT be the father but because a court order was handed down the man has to keep paying child support - for kids that are not his.
They are considering changing this situation. Only considering it mind you, and on a very limited basis.

"Police say Morales then entered a house in the neighborhood and held a family of four hostage for several hours. The standoff ended when one of the residents managed to wrestle the gun out of Morales hands and Morales fled the scene." This "man" terrorized an innocent family at gunpoint in their own home. We are asked to feel "sorry" for him. Sheesh.
Roger, I have appreciated your position for some time now. However, don't you think you could find a better "champion" for your cause?

Welcome to hell America: 911. Where jack booted thugs are just one phone call away from welfare people using the system to wage their war on America's families.
