Neighbors, I hate to use this list again so soon, but in 2 weeks Billy faces a runoff... any pinging of others you think would be interested, forwarding this post via email, etc., will be appreciated.
We really need to encourage the thugs, kooks, and clowns in politics to consider finding employment elsewhere...

Thanks for posting this. I was going to put out a plea this evening for all to contribute $$ to his opponent's campaign. Backhoe, thanks for getting the ball rolling.
I've got to run now, if someone could find and post contact info for his opponent's campaign, that would be great.

Black conservative pingIf you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)
Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

I read that he has been in the General Assembly 30 years- isn't that obscene?
He needs to go back home and live under some of the laws he has imposed on the rest of us, not be a perpetual politician.

I posted the follow-up stories on why McKinney lost her race from the Atlanta Journal Constitution
here. They mention Daddy McKinney.

We really need to encourage the thugs, kooks, and clowns in politics to consider finding employment elsewhere... Now, that would change the face of Congress forever. ;-)

Hopefully there's enough Republicans in his district who'll crossover.

Sad to say, you have a point... if we cleared out all the corrupt, those who lie, the bullies, and so forth, there would probably be few left!

Yep. Ain't it a nice picture? If they could be replaced by real Americans willing to give up their own business for a term or two before going back home to live under the laws they passed, we would have the kind of representation intended by the designers of our form of government.
It'll never happen as long as we have political parties in charge of the electoral process. The main qualifications for office today are ambition, disdain for the Constitution and moral retardation.

I saw McKinney after the election and all she could do was blame the GOP for cross voting. The camera then switched to a woman voter who said "Yes, I cross voted and everyone in my family did too!!" Another man was interviewed and said " I had a bad taste in my mouth doing it, but yes, I voted to get her (McKinney) out because she just doesn't belong in Congress!"

Great job, backhoe!
I posted this info on another thread, but I'll do it again.
Here's John Noel's website. I've spoken to him and to his dad (who is down from Tennessee helping John run his campaign), and although they are a touch on the liberal side for FR, they are decent people. I think John will be responsive to his constituents if he wins this thing, he does not strike me as a doctrinaire liberal but a man trying to walk a tightrope in a district that includes a weird mix of suburban Atlanta liberals, City of Atlanta liberals, Cobb County conservatives, and much too large a contingent of race-baiting loonies (Billy's close personal friends, mostly).
John Noel for Statehouse
Here is a map of the district.

I spoke to a worker for John last night, and the thing they need most (aside from any campaign contributions that you may be moved to send) is for us to call everybody we know in the 44th to get them out for September 10th. The candidate who gets out HIS vote will be the winner!
Heartfelt prayers might also be in order.
