What's that old saying, "Just tell 'em the truth and they'll think it's hell?"

National Cancer Institute says there is no established link between breast cancer and abortion despite a host of studies that strongly support the link, which thanks to intense pressure from the billion-dollar abortion industry is a taboo subject for the liberal media establishment. Depressing.

The point is, none of us in that room had an abortion. I would not think that is something a woman would generally admit to. I have read that over time guilt becomes a real problem with many who have had the procedure.

Hostettler told the Evansville Courier & Press that the meeting was "a discussion of breast cancer research and other issues. They did not want to talk about certain issues, and I wanted to.
If they don't like what I say, I can't help that." Hostettler IS grossly insensitive, to bring abortion up to a group of women who overcame breast cancer but did not have abortions.
Pro-lifers never fail to shoot themselves in the feet.

They want Hostettler to "support more federal money for breast cancer research", but they don't want to hear about research concerning breast cancer?
Doesn't compute.

What do you expect Hostetler to do?
ASK THEM if they had abortions first?...
before he simply mentions the truthful statistical link between abortion and breast cancer?

So according to your expert study, these women are liars as well.
To: sinkspur
Hostettler IS grossly insensitive, to bring abortion up to a group of women who overcame breast cancer but did not have abortions. Why?! If the abortions are the major cause (about 50%) of breast cancer, why to make a taboo out of it? If those women want the money for the research, why would they want to supress the results of it? If the physicians were so "sensitive" they would never be able to use scalpel or any pain causing procedure. Sometimes a little of painful truth is beneficial.
I am surprised that you Sinkspur desire so much sensitivity.

I don't see the connection between breast cancer research and the link between abortion and breast cancer. Of course, to the extent factual, all those considering an abortion should be made aware of the link (and the link should of course be one subject of such research), but that is another matter. The Congressman is in trouble because of his crude fusing of the two. If he wasn't so ham handed, he could have said he favored the research, and one important focus of it should be on further investigating the link, and making it more widely known.

Maybe he did say that? Did you see a transcript?
To: nickcarraway
No. If you find the transcript post it. Providing factual information is what makes FR such a valuable resource.

Hostettler, speaking to his constituents, managed to piss off most of them.
What did he accomplish? What did his "abortion leads to breast cancer" idealism do to advance the pro-life cause?
Little, if you ask me.

I would not think that is something a woman would generally admit toAgree. Statistically, 1 in 4 women have an abortion within their lifetime. Put a bunch of breast cancer patients in the same room and watch those ratios get tighter. Now, it is within the realm of possibility that none of these women had an abortion (but not likely). Other strong causes of breast cancer are artificial estrogens like the Pill and HRT. Regardless, none of these women would admit publicly to the first possibility. Denial is a very strong defense mechanism.
