" I was thinking all along that that would be the ONE downside to a conviction. Have you checked out the Smokey Backroom? OMG, it's a Chamber of Horrors over there! Nasty pictures, nasty tempers, nasty words, etc. They hate Kim's guts over there. They make the SoreLoserman crowd look positively calm and rational by comparison!! Have they set up a SaveDave Appeals Fund yet? "
It's not just me, it's the VAN DAM THREAD JACKALS DW IS GUILTY, and are little blonde nancy grace wannabe CROWD they can't stand.

Hard to believe that any freepers would actually have fallen for the defense teams smoke and mirrors, but from some of the posts I have seen for the duration of the trial, I guess they did!
Thank God the jurors didn't fall for it!
This animal won't be able to hurt another child!

Many's the time I posted that the jury was shown still photos of children, the animes that some focus on, and in addition to those items, the jury saw real video of real young girls being assaulted.
Unfortunately the word "anime" gets mentioned and some want to say "See, all he had were cartoons".
P.S. General point of fact: The son's computer was a hand-me-down from his dad. No internet access in the son's room. Additional fact: The son did admit to porn surfing conducted in his dad's office. Not the illegal stuff, though. The evidence shows it was his dad's, however, and the jury found it to be so.

Got that right. Very strange stuff how they could support someone that was so obviously guilty. Boy! Is it safe to come back to posting again?
Last time I checked in the mob was talking about how Damon had killed all sorts of people in Florida as well as his daughter. I'm so glad the jury took a long time and came up with the right verdict.

Oddly I was just watching Shapiro (the guilty traitor to his own tribe) and found myself agreeing with him on the matter of the parent's lifestyle placing the child "at risk". He and Hannity were essentially on the same page.
Amazing that so many liberals bristle at this suggestion.

I stayed away as well when I saw how several people whose opinions differed from the cult were treated. It fell to the level of adults engaging in namecalling. No thanks, I had no desire to enter into debate with juvenile, unreasonable individuals. I would say more, but I think that's enough. I was driven away. It's terrible how a few managed to drive off anyone with an honest difference of opinion. And this is not the only forum they did it to.
I'm glad sanity has returned. :)

I'm glad you've returned.

OMG, that thread's amazing! I especially like the one complaining because the prosecutor wanted an extra 10 minutes to talk to the victim's parents before the guilty verdict was read. Everybody's being so mean to poor Dave! Which thread is that, Amore? I must have missed it. BTW, hi! Haven't seen you around in awhile. :)

THE SMOKEY BACKROOM!!!
To: cyncooper
Hey, cyn! I've been watching the evening news shows (Larry King, Hannity & Colmes, etc) A lot of them seem to think that for the penalty phase DW might admit he did it. That goes back to something I found interesting at the time of the jury instructions, although no one seemed to be talking about it -- Feldy got the court to give a voluntary intoxication defense. In essence, that was asking for the jury either to find that he didn't do it, or, if he did do it, he was drunk. So, I wonder if his defense at the penalty phase will be yes, I did it, but it was an accident, I was so drunk I didn't know what I was doing, I got scared and dumped the body, etc. Now IF that happens, do you suppose anybody in the smokey room will change their views? I'm betting they are so far gone that it wouldn't.

Thank you for sharing the views you heard on those shows. Very interesting. Of course we will see in a week or so what he decides to do.
No, I don't think his defenders would admit he is guilty. They would claim he is admitting it because he has no choice if he wants to save his life.
To: BunnySlippers
Hey, Bunny, yes, I, like you, was driven away from these threads by the uncivil nature of the discussion. I wasn't even planning to post today but Kim pinged me on an appellate law issue, so that I really wanted to respond.
The thread I'm referring to is the one TomB linked on #724. I don't know how that "separate thread for DW fans" even works. Was there an agreement that they got their own separate thread to post on? Because if so why are some of them on THIS thread?

I'm not sure you are aware of it, but there's this obnoxious faction on FR that based their entire argument on the fact that Westerfield allegedly said he was a Republican.
From that day onward, the most outrageous spin, rivaling anything James Carville could have come up with, was concocted around the most obscure and irrelevant pieces of "evidence" they could contrive.
There is a certain arrogance to people like this--there is another faction who continues to blather about the Smart girl's disappearance--who believe THEY ALONE have the intelligence to sift through data that they don't even get firsthand, but through news media reports and the rumor mill, and decide the man's innocence.
They ignore--and they'll continue to ignore; just watch 'em writhe and gyrate for the next several days talking about the "horrible miscarriage of justice"--the most blatant evidence.
To give one example, the child pornography that was actually central to the jury's finding of "guilty", was dismissed by them every time you brought it up. "It was only two minutes of little girls playing topless on the lawn" (in reality, it was hours of small children being horribly raped) was one you heard all the time.
I suggest they all SHUT THE **** UP from now on.
Westerfield is going to fry, and now there ain't a hope in the world for their stupid, disgraceful antics to make a dime's worth of difference to anyone or anything.

It's the Smokey Backroom thread - where they say I'm a lesbian on welfare because I think Westerfield is guilty.
To: Amore
Westerfield will never admit that he murdered Danielle. He will lie to the bitter end.
He knows what awaits child molester/killers in a state prison. He should be begging for the death penalty.

LOL~ I saw that...
