I guess the reason "We Were Soldiers" wasn't a big hit, because it portrayed Vietnam Era soldiers as heroes. Hollywood prefers the stereo-typical murderous, dope smoking, Tiger's tooth necklace wearing Vietnam soldier to the real thing!

NEVER FORGET

...Actually, in our Post 9-11 World .."WE WERE SOLDIERS".. did just fine. With many movies opening to less BoX Office and then disappearing from screens after just a couple of weeks...

...RANDALL WALLACE's 'Braveheart in 'Nam Film stayed 15 weeks in theaters across the America, then opened up abroad in Japan, Germany, Spain, France, etc.

...Although it's No. 1 MEL GIBSON Weekend Opening March 1st didn't pull in as high a Box Office Gross as originally hoped, $20.2 Million, this outstanding Motion Picture had very long "Legs"..!

.."Legs" so long that it was decided to move up a planned November DVD/Video Release to August 2002. Theater Gross so far has been over $80 Million.

...Come Oscar Time USA...???

NEVER FORGET
