Nothing wrong with a little historical revisionism after 911 and remember - its only a movie!

Maybe, but let's face it--for better or for worse, movies are how many, many people get a good deal of their history. When movies revise it to be something it's not, then it completely distorts it in the eyes of the public.

This movie was good.It didn't run down the image of those of us who served in that war.It showed something about leaders who are loyal to their men and men loyal to each other.None of the Hollywood leftist relativism. The book was better because it was history. This is a dramatization. It's the attitude of the film that hits home in a positive way.It allows us to see that sometimes you're just faced with absolutes-no time to theorize and discuss things. The impact on the families was skillfully interwoven."Blackhawk Down" was also worthwhile, but it related an isolated incident in the midst of a mission with no clearly defined purpose.Vietnam just went on and on-it was the defining aspect of my generation along with the Cold War.

Well the guys that were there that the History Channel dug up for their History vs Hollywood on the movie said they didn't have a problem with the revisions, they thought it made for good drama and didn't detract from the reality of the events. If they don't have a problem I don't have a problem.
