I have no idea if this has been posted before...but I ran across it while searching for sites on September 11 and thought it would be a good thing, since there was so much CRAP coming from the NEA about it. I keep thinking how on that moment I saw the second plane hit, how THAT moment changed EVERYTHING...not just for me, but for everyone. And how it was such a palpable feeling that I could feel it when I went outside my house and saw the rest of the community.

It is a moment in my life I will never forget.

I don't have anything earth-shaking to contribute, but my son was walking to work that morning (he worked a few blocks from the WTC). He called home -- Florida -- to find out what was going on, since he couldn't see anything from street level.

By pure chance the conversation was captured by the answering machine.

I will in no way support the Smithsonian. They're nothing more that a bunch of historical and social revisionists.

this is an outstanding idea for an archival thread, alkhin !

i was home, working on drawings for a piece of furniture,
with foxnews playing on the tv in the background...

when i saw the pics of the first tower, something immediately 'smelled' funny,
and when i stood here, right where my desk chair is now, and watched those
indescribably evil bastards turn the second plane into tower two, there arose in
me a cold, cold hatred that has not diminished one iota since.

i made a trip to the site three weeks later, and inhaled the
literal dust of the dead on the streets of lower manhattan.

if it's still in the FR archives, i'll append that narrative later on ...

thanks again for your excellent post.

NEVER FORGET !

I heard it live on the radio as I was eating breakfast before work in a McDonald's parking lot. I rushed home and flipped on the TV and sat in shock for a while. When my 12 year old son got home from school, we went to the store to buy some ammo.

It was about 3:30/4:00 PM on our way to the store, and after all day of no planes in the air, we looked up to the sky and saw a lone big body jet heading East. I said to my son, "there goes the President of the greatest country in the history of the world. God bless him!".
