"Slutty" behavior is good for the species. That's the conclusion of a new wave of research on the evolutionary drives behind sexuality and parenting.
Women everywhere have been selflessly engaging in trysts outside of matrimony for a good long time and for excellent reasons. Anthropologists say female promiscuity binds communities closer together and improves the gene pool.

"Fooling around appears to have helped our ancestral mothers equip their little ones for success -- the sexual equivalent of reading to them every night or enrolling in the after-school chess club." I am speechless ... whatever will we do to make up for lost ground? &;-)

You naughty girl!
P.S. - We came in 13th out of about 65 in the big tourney, not bad, but......
Overall a great day (box was full, started throwing back keepers), but the fish were deep! most were caught in about 70' of water.

You're right. It's punks like this who feel secure posting stupidity while hiding in the anonymity of the Internet. He doesn't have the courage to say something like this to my face. If he's smart (which I doubt), he wouldn't.

Well, I think we have enough sluts to go around and there is no need to create more. I prefered the good old days when a guy trying to have his way with you complained of that mysterious frightening ailment, Blue you know whats, rather than some wimp telling me it would be good for the species. Gimme a break, this guys agenda is to have women act like men and in particular gay men who are known to have a lot of partners, for the most part. Women aren't meant to have alot,,to easily bruised and reproductive system to prone to problems.

"Slutty" behavior is good for the species. Great! My ex-wife will be thrilled! ;)

Well the article doesn't predict that they should be out of the stone age. The article does not claim that promiscuity is good for societial advancement, only for perpetuation (and perhaps proliferation) of the species.
That would explain the hordes of Maoris sweeping over the planet.

Does this mean the kids need to see their slutty mothers' adultery to get a leg up in the world?

The origin of how I came about this story is as bizarre as the person who alerted me to it! LOL &;-)

So the SF Chronicle says, among other things, that gays are naturally monogamous but females are naturally promiscuous.
Right, and "The Sky was Yellow and the Sun was Blue..."

Har! Har! If one assumes so, then single fathers raising daughters are in an evolutionary black hole. &;-)

This would explain the wisdom of our family courts.

A wave of bogus research. Anyone worth their salt in that field can tell you that monagamy = relatively bulletproof security from sexually transmitted disease. Of course, we wouldn't have any presupposed agendas in this research would we...
More than 20 tribal societies accept the principle that a child could, and ideally ought to, have more than one father, according to Pennsylvania anthropologist Stephen Beckerman. "It begins to crop up in a lot of places," says Beckerman, who has reviewed dozens of reports on tribes from South America, New Guinea, Polynesia and India as co-editor of the newly released book, "Cultures of Multiple Fathers."
All of said tribes having a looong healthy lifespans and enjoying the benefits of all the modern amenities they developed with their free time and saved resources from kids having multiple fathers. I wonder if the authors also tout the memory and spirit enhancing charachteristics imparted to some of those New Guinea tribes from eating human brains? (Remember kuru, a spongiform encephalopy)...
I'd be willing to bet these conclusions are reached after heavy sorting and filtering of any data contradictory to the desired results.

Yes, the prizes went to 40th place! (up to 15th it was products from a sponser, a box of condi(o?)ments!?!?). We got a gift certificate to a local garage (went to the guy who just banged up his truck) and one to a local resturant ('confiscated' by the Captain's wife ;-). This was the one we wanted 1st place, that was $6000! Oh well, try again next year!

So basically we can be promiscuous and be "progressive" like people in the Amazon who live in mud huts. Or we can be "regressive" and monogamous and live in modern industrial societies. Hmm.
Some of these same tribes practice witchcraft, self-mutilation, and cannibalism. More "virtues"?
