President Bush continued his working vacation today in Crawford, TX where he continued doing what he enjoys most- working outside. Bush will be hosting a 'military transformation' meeting on Wednesday, which will be attended by Vice President Dick Cheney, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Richard Myers and White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card. Condi Rice is also expected to attend. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I think so, rintense, but the way I am picturing it is with President Bush holding Barney even farther AWAY from him. I may have exaggerated it in my memory, though, and the second pic may be it.

I agree, the Summit was fantastic! I learned a great deal about the plethora of issues that one must consider when making decisions about the economic security of this country -- I do NOT envy the President and his team! [However, it must have been heartening for him -- it was certainly heartening for me -- to learn that these incredibly credentialed and successful business people, academicians, health care professionals, and 'real' folk strongly SUPPORT his policies.]
NOTE: The businessman that you mentioned was featured in the plenary session, as was Phyllis Hill Slater. Even though I recorded this session, I plan to purchase c-span's tape of the event. If you or anyone else would like to view this tape, I would be happy to loan it to you!

Well, actually Wednesday is Graduation day, but it's at 9:00 in the morning, so we're going down tomorrow afternoon and staying in a Motel.
Eric wants to go off base, so after the family brunch they have after graduation, we're taking him for a big day in Louisville! :o)
We have to have him back on Thursday morning, and he leaves for AIT at Ft.Lee, Virginia on Friday.
We just talked with him tonight, and he is EXCITED!!
I'll give you a full report for sure!!
Lorena, I've got more. Ya wanna see em?

McLynnan, that picture has me laughing out loud! I love the look on President Bush's face, and Barney's paws and eyebrows are just too cute!
Ohio, that's the picture! It's the "all right, what's goin' on here?" look on President Bush's face that I remember! Thanks, and have a wonderful time in Kentucky with Eric tomorrow!!!

Thanks to the both of you. It was disturbing news, particularly because my friend is basically a Dem, but likes Bush. It pains me to hear that people are "giving up" on government ever changing, and keeping the attitude that "eh, this will ALWAYS go on -- it's just the way it is." I'm left to say,
"Not while George is President!"I realize he can't be everywhere, and Mueller can't either, but how is anything going to change if no one thinks it's worth it to SAY something? They can't jeopardize their jobs, and I understand corporate/government life, but as an outsider, I can relay information. I just hope someone is listening.
Wouldn't it be great if there were a "surprise" visit, and things really DID change??? Then, "they'd" have to believe WE MEAN BUSINESS about improving America!
Is my Minnesota "Little House on the Praire" spirit showing again??? ;-)

I alway say, the FIRST requirement for a president is that he can operate a chainsaw!!
