Thanks to the both of you. It was disturbing news, particularly because my friend is basically a Dem, but likes Bush. It pains me to hear that people are "giving up" on government ever changing, and keeping the attitude that "eh, this will ALWAYS go on -- it's just the way it is." I'm left to say, "Not while George is President!"I realize he can't be everywhere, and Mueller can't either, but how is anything going to change if no one thinks it's worth it to SAY something? They can't jeopardize their jobs, and I understand corporate/government life, but as an outsider, I can relay information. I just hope someone is listening.

Wouldn't it be great if there were a "surprise" visit, and things really DID change??? Then, "they'd" have to believe WE MEAN BUSINESS about improving America!

Is my Minnesota "Little House on the Praire" spirit showing again??? ;-)

Thank you for passing along that story. It is disturbing.

I have one to pass along that is also somewhat revealing but in a different way. The Gores recently bought a big house in Nashville. A big, white house. Actually, it is in Belle Meade, a small, old monied enclave within the Nashville city limits. It is one of the most affluent residential areas in the country.

A very good friend of mine lives there and sent me this account of Tipper's Excellant Real Estate Adventure. If the house had a fountain out front and a flag pole on the roof it would look for all the world just like The White House. I kid you not. LOL. I had two pictures, a side-by-side comparison but I can't find them now.

The house was not on the market. Tipper just stopped her car and went up to the door, knocked, and when the owner came to the door Tipper asked if they would be interested in selling the house. They told her "no", she then asked to cpme in the house and take a look around because she thought it was so charming. The homeowners couldn't turn down a request like that from the former BP's wife and who was "almost first lady" so they showed her around the house. She thank them politely and left.

About a week later Tipper called them, said she was very interested in the house and asked the owners if they were going to sell the house, what would be the asking price. The owners pulled a figure straight out of the air, which was almost double what they paid for the two and a half or three years ago. Tipper agreed to the price immediately and the deal was done. The house is now undergoing much renovation, although the previous owners had really done a complete overhaul when they moved in.
