Bolstered by Prov and camera-shy Wendell, Mid-MO Freepers Bluesage, Dogrobber and Zip once again stood against the Peace-nuts outside the Columbia Post Office this Saturday. The Peace-nuts were their normal goofy lot, one of whom couldnt figure out which end of his sign was up. Another Peace-nut seemed think wars could not be won, a prospect which I am sure would have come as a surprise to George Washington, Winston Churchill and the entire population of Kuwait.
A reporter came upon our little counter-protest and asked what we were doing. We stated we were protesting the protesters. He proceeded to cross the street and interview the peace-nuts. After snapping pictures of them, he came across to us and interviewed Prov. She did a fine job of stating we were supporting our troops, supporting our country and making a stand against those who could not be depended upon to lift a finger in our defense. Of course, well have to wait and see what the reporter writes, but Ill report, glowingly, that Prov was WONDERFUL!
This weeks FReep garnered more shows of support than normal. Many drivers smiled and gave us the requested thumbs-up for America. A few voiced thanks! One drove down the street with a thumb up for us on our side of the street and a one half Peace sign out the other side of the car for the Peace-nuts. Meanwhile, the five of us held conversations amongst ourselves, thrilled to be in the company of like-minded Americans. The cool weather, fine conversation, and support from the traffic made this one of the most satisfying FReeps yet. Now, if we can just work on the view in front of the Post Office!
As long as we have BluesAgeWoman and Dogrobber, they'll never get us down. Eagles Up
You are always welcome to our humble gathering.
Great job, Missouri FReepers. I love reading about your rallies. You make us proud!
FReep on!
