How come my links have a....http://www.freerepublic.com/perl.... prefix.

This is what I typed (without the spaces)

< a href=“http://www.google.com”>Google< /a>

The link shows up like this.

http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/http://www.google.com

Hmm? I see that happen from time to time, usually with the URL Address in article posts.

I notice that when I did a View Partial Source of your link, it's actually this:

< A href="“http://www.google.com”">Google< /A>

Notice the duplicate quotemarks?

Now when I take the dup quotes out, it makes this link:

Google

.........a good Google link!

When you make your link, check the detail before posting, and test the link. If
the link fails in the test, a little detail check should reveal the problem.
