Big Brothers Big Sisters of America has told its 490 local affiliates to give openly gay and lesbian volunteers an equal chance to serve as one-on-one mentors to children...

Oh, this is really going to appeal to parents. Will this mentoring occur in motel rooms?

I wonder how these corporations like Verizon could be held responsible when the first criminal sexual abuse by a Sodomite volunteer hits?

I've contributed to the BB/BS program for years. But not now. This really makes me question their concern for and ability to be mentoring children.

I worked with this woman who was a "Big Sister", and behind her back were whispers of her sexual preference, (BTW: not men for you DU lurkers)!

I always wondered how anyone would let her spend time alone with his or her daughter.

Years ago an associate of mine applied to volunteer as a Big Brother.

He gave me as a reference and BB sent me a very detailed questionnaire to complete, which I gladly did.

BB was clearly going to great lengths to AVOID exposing their young clients to homos at that point in history.

That, sadly, appears to have changed.

"We're getting incredible, positive support for the action we took," the organization's president, Judy Vredenburgh, said yesterday.

"Parents will still have the option of rejecting mentors for various reasons, including sexual orientation."

And when they do, they'll be harassed and called a homophobe. What will BB/BS do to protect parents from being harassed when they decide to reject a homosexual "mentor"?

Does BB/BS have a blank on its application form to indicate "sexual orientation"? If so, how do they verify this information? What happens if an applicant claims they are straight, and then later decides to "come out" as a homosexual? What about the "bisexuals" and "transgenders"? Do the "bisexuals" get to mentor a boy or a girl? Or one of each? And what about the S&M's (sadomasochists)? S&M's have their place in the homosexual community so they certainly couldn't discriminate against them.

Homosexuals are not appropriate mentors for children!

There has been no indication corporate backers will shy away from Big Brothers Big Sisters. Larry Plumb, a spokesman for Verizon Communications, said his company has a long track record in support of nondiscrimination.

Simply spiffy. Pretty soon they'll be able to add some new entries to their list of supported causes, but none of them are fit to print. Think I'm gonna hurl...

Hey, why not? After all, it worked in the Catholic Church. (that was sarcasm, son)

It seems the lessons from the Church scandals are lost on the majority of society. And yet, the Boy Scouts are perpetually attacked by the fags and their defenders, like the ACLU.

If the parents get a resume of the volunteers and the "sexual orientation" of the volunteer is clearly listed, then BB/BS might not get sued when a volunteer molests a child.

If you have a son, don't do BB/BS, sign your son up with Boy Scouts. If you have a daughter, I don't know what to advise you, except to remember this one (of 8) simple rules for dating my daughter. It's from a book I saw recently in a bookstore, but I can't remember the author.

You may have heard that if you have sex without a barrier it can be dangerous and could even kill you. Let me be more clear. When it comes to sex, I am the barrier and I will kill you.

Shalom.

Lemme get this straight...

It's BAD for the Catholic Church to expose children homosexual (scratch that: insert "pedophile") Priests, but GOOD to expose children to homosexual (scratch that: insert "openly gay and lesbian") volunteers?

As that famous American Icon, politician and current jailbird would say, "Beam me up, Scotty!!"
