President Bush headed to South Dakota today to promote his economic and homeland security packages. In a speech in front of Mount Rushmore, South Dakota, Bush called for congress to act quickly on the proposed cabinet-level position of homeland defense. The President also stated that the current homeland package proposed from the Senate strips him of authority to exempt agencies from collective bargaining requirements if national security demands it. WOW, what a first picture! That just took my breath away.
I got to see the speech this morning, FOX carried the entire thing (for a change) and he's really getting to be a good speaker. They didn't show Daschle at all, but you could picture him squirming during the entire speech.

Thank you for the new wallpaper. The President gave an outstanding speech this morning. He seemed relaxed and he put Congress on notice about the defense spending bill and the Homeland Security Department. Must have been embarrassing for Daschle to be shown up as an obstructionist in front of his constituents. Mt. Rushmore would look even better with Reagan and W carved in stone, don't you think?
