BAGHDAD, Iraq, Aug 15, 2002 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- Iraqi authorities have ordered Baghdad residents to stay put and warned that their money and property will be confiscated if they leave the city without permission, according to a well-informed source. The measures were taken, the source said, to prevent people fleeing in anticipation of a U.S. military strike.

Just the opposite, time is now against Saddam and his best buds the Crazy Mullahs in Iran, the despots under Junior Assad and last but not least the Opecker Saudi Princes who finance the Islamakazis around the world.

They saw what happened to the best Islamakazi fighting force, the Talibunnies and al Queerdos in Afghanistan. We were not even prepared for that effort. Again the arm chair admirals and generals on Free Republic had us losing that war before we even started it.

We have been rearming our fleet, our air force and spec ops guys, and the green light has been given to Israel to take out whatever Iraqi targets if Saddam attacks or appears to be starting an attack. The Islamakazis know what the Israelis have done to them in two other wars. Now the Israelis are even in better shape after the past few months and really ready to kick some Islamakazi A$$!

Our Turkish allies have taken over an Iraqi Air Base in N. Iraq. It is all coming down piece by piece and Saddam knows it. So do the poor people living in Baghdad who get out while they can.

Too many conservatives want our service people to killed like in Viet Nam for their egos. That ain't going to happen here. We will kill the Islamakazis when we are ready not when arm chair admirals and generals need a Viagra substitute with a bloody war.

Go ahead and confiscate to your hearts content Saddam, we'll just return it to everyone after you're gone. They know it too.

Better to lose a few hundred troops tomorrow than a few thousand civilians a week from now.

Spoken like a true civilian.

Many Communist officials and their families left for the Urals, in case Moscow fell.

one unless they are hiding definitive proof that they were a part of Sept 11th(of which there is none so far) they are not at war with us..

Okay Joy, I'm grateful that you've vetted all of the confidential information gathered by the FBI, CIA, US Military, NSA and others and have now assured us that there is absolutely no links between Iraq and any of the bombings from 1993 WTC to the 2001 WTC (Including OKC, Flight 800, Khobar Towers, USS Cole, etc. etc. etc.

GET REAL, and pull your head out of the ... (I'll be nice) sand.

"Too many conservatives want our service people to killed like in Viet Nam for their egos. That ain't going to happen here. We will kill the Islamakazis when we are ready not when arm chair admirals and generals need a Viagra substitute with a bloody war"

Wise and true words.

This time "between the first salvo and the main event" is elevating all of our blood pressures.I am thankfull that I know for a fact, and do not have to rely on blind faith, that wiser and steadier hands than mine finger the trigger.

War is here, and this lull before the storm is like the living in the eye of a hurricane. On one hand , we want it over with, because the longer we spend in the eye, the more viscious the backlash.OTOH, I am truly in no hurry to count the death and destruction of the day after. I doubt many will rejoice here as they do over there, at the deaths of innocents. And there will be many.

May we all steady ourselves. And may we be patient with our neighbors and friends who "lose it" for a minute or two.The worst is yet to come. When it does, I hope we have the courage to face it head on.It will not be remote via CNN this time.

The Mother of all cowards. I want them nuked, turned into a glass parking lot. I don't want to see one of our soldiers get a hang nail because of these cowardly scum. We have the weapons, I think we should use them for many reasons.

Number one, to save American lives

Number two, to show these craven Muslim radicals that we will destroy all they hold dear.

Number three, to make an example to the rest of the world of what happens to those that attack American soil.

Number four, brutes only respect power, kindness is sneered at by them, so show them what real power is.

Bingo!

We need to establish that if you treat us civilly, we will reciprocate, and be civil to you. If you leave us alone, we will leave you alone. But, if you decide to cast yourself as our enemy, and make noises about attacking us, we will wipe you off the face of the earth with such unspeakable brutality that no one will forget about it ten generations into the future.

It's the business end of "walk softly and carry a big stick". If all you're prepared to do with that stick is wave it, it's not gonna work. The savages need to know that if they step out of line, they will be crushed without mercy.

Once they learn that lesson, we will be able to get by with merely a wave or two of the stick to squelch future conflicts.

Unless the bad guys know you're prepared to use the stick, you may as well leave it home.

Too many years of leftward "leadership" of this country has left us without respect and without fear.

EMP? ... unnecessary

If I understand correctly, EMP destroys circuits and components therein. Mobile launchers out in the desert with their own power supply (diesel, whatever) would thus be junk after an EMP "hit". EMP doesn't necessarily have to hit power supply stations or transmission lines to do its job.

For that matter, it could take out a flight of airplanes, if the pulse was strong enough and in close enough proximity. No electrical, no fly!

correct, but EMP can have unintended consequences, like when they fried a satellite passing over a blast zone ... perhaps they have it more under control now .. many missile systems can be spoofed either electronically, or by flares for IR or chaff for radar ... granted advances have been made and Saddam has some newer systems

a field that large would probably require a nuke detonation high in the atmosphere ... I'll really be surprised if we do that, though I wouldn't be all that surprised if we or Israel did it in response to bio or chem attack ...

Frankly I'm tired of seeing the USofA behave like a prostitute that pays her johns to beat her up. I know that's harsh, but that is what the liberal idiots have brought us to in the international arena.

We act as though the more abuse one of these flea bitten nations heaps on us, the more we will pay them, so naturally they pile it on. I'm sick of it when all we have to do is roar once and they will hit their little burrows in the ground like the mice they are.

It seems to me that it's dangerous to behave like a bear surrounded by famished wolves that have lost their fear. When in reality we are a lion surrounded by termites. Europe can stuff it's "sophistication" especially when they expect us to sit back and face losing cities by falling in line with their cowardly ideas that pose as "enlightenment".

There comes a time for meekness and humility to be laid aside and the sword to be picked up. And we should not pick that sword up unless we intend to get blood on it, preferably without ourselves getting so much as a scratch. That sends a message.

Guess Saddam needs some dead non-combatants for CNN.

Yes. And I'm sure that the traitorous, vile CNN has multiple versions of that headline drafted already.

Why can't we get something in space that will geostationary orbit Sadam's ass and just get him?

Probably already there. Precise targeting is the problem.

will Scott Ritter be going to Baghdad to protect his beloved Saddam?

Ritter is on the Iraqi payroll now. Never got over that first taste of Saaaadam's arse, I guess.

According to unconfirmed reports, government officials in Baghdad have been selling their properties and changing their Iraqi dinars for hard currency.

Seems as though the rats are jumping ship.

All baghdadis but not bagladies and bagladdies.

bagmommies optional.

Before it's over, they'll all need colostomy baggies.

In our small church we have over 60 men and women on active duty in the military on our weekly prayer list.

Each one of these military people is a son or a daughter, a brother or a sister, a father or mother, a nephew or a niece, an uncle or an aunt, a cousin or someone's friend. They didn't volunteer to make some loser in life feel good.

We lost one young marine in our town. He was the marine sargent who was killed in the helicopter crash this past spring. He grew up here and was buried here.

One of our Freepers has a husband and a son in the Army. Several have sons or daughters in the military.

The blood thirsty arm chair admirals and generals fortunately have zero impact with the people who will decide when it is time for the next phase. If they want to start fighting early, we can take up a collection and buy them a one way ticket. They can go battle Saddam in the summer in Iraq.

It is hotter than hades in Iraq now. Fighting a war in the middle east in the summer would be dumber than the Germans trying to defeat the Russians during the winter deep in Russia.
