"You disrespect the illegals because in your system, immigrants are automatically bottom rung strawberry pickers."
Huh? What about all of those Indians (dot - not feather- to use WFB's words) that I know that have come to our country, got educated and work in the computer field? Including a couple that have started their own (still) successful companies? I respect the inherent worth of everyone, until you prove yourself worthless. And I can pretty much guarantee that I have more experience working with tech workers from other countries than you do, H1b and otherwise, and they all want to stay in America.
I say: If a legal immigrant wants to come to this country and write computer code or pick strawberries, that's ok with me.
You say: Build a wall and let no one in - we gots too many of them already!
Come on out with you - the reason you are anti-immigrant is you don't like "their kind". Just admit it, there is no harm. I admit I love immigrants! They come to this country because they recognize our cultural/moral/financial superiority over their native land. You should quit being afraid.

I am not anti-immgration.
The problem is not immigration.
The problem is non-European immigration.

Pittsburgh is not a bastion of illegal immigration or large legal immigration. Thus, you really don't see what others see. You're much like the "conservatives" spouting the joys of diversity while living in their lilly-white suburban community in the midwest.
As far as H1Bs, that visa program needs to be discontinued until otherwise noted. There are thousands of Americans out of work due to the employment of lower-skilled foreigners. I say that Americans should be first priority, not those from the rest of the world.

Shame. The straw man. Yeah "gop" guy, you got me, I'm an ignorant Nazi, afraid of Mexican immigrants. My grandmother-in-law is an Mexican immigrant, my Mother in law is the daughter of that Mexican immigrant, and my wife is the daughter of the daughter of that Mexican immigrant. That makes my kids 1/4 "Mexican". But wait, I forgot, I don't like "their kind". By the way, my grandmother in law speaks English as well as I do. Why is that?
Now that that is over with, remember one thing. I'm talking about illegal immigration. Legal immigration is fine, within reason. Perhaps you misunderstood me, or I didn't make myself clear.
