That's not the point. These were not Israelis. There were AMERICANS dammit!

Bush missed a genuine Reagan-style "Challenger" moment to rally Americans together through a memorial service he attended personally.

Another example of a over-cautious, tone-deaf West Wing. Who is their Michael Deaver? Rove is pathetic enough with the "New Tone" crap, but to let genuine opportunities like this slip away is disgraceful.

These were not Israelis who died. They were Americans.

Sorry to say, it's not BS. If I remember my political history correctly, it was Nixon's refusal to meet with black groups that cost the GOP dearly -- Kennedy swept the votes of African Americans and they've been in the dim's pocket ever since. Bush shouldn't blow this chance to move the Jewish vote for what amounts to just a PR call. Call it pandering and lip service if you will, but that appears to be what politics is all about in the USA. He should do whatever possible to move Jewish votes to the GOP. Esp in Florida!

Re: Bush the best friend Israel ever had........
The leadership knows this, the voters do not. Good thing the Republicans don't treat them as they are treated.

I wondered whether the President had done anything to reach the parents. I wiah he had, if he did not.
