FAMILIES OF AMERICAN TERROR VICTIMS IN ISRAEL LASH OUT AT BUSH SNUB
Tue Aug 13 2002 20:25:00 ET
Distraught relatives of American students killed in a bomb attack at Israel's Hebrew University are furious they haven't heard from President Bush or anyone else at the White House, the WASHINGTON POST is planning to report on Wednesday, sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.
One sister of a bombing victim tells Lloyd Grove of the POST, according to insiders, how Sen. Ted Kennedy and Sen. Hillary Clinton have both reached out personally to express their condolences; while Bush has done nothing.
Another angry family member fumed in a fax to the president: "The 9 miners who were trapped underground for 72 hours were rescued... A few days later you went to their celebration party... My cousin was murdered and you didn't even make a phone call or write a letter to her family."
Bush did make several public statements expressing anger over the five American deaths.

You know, I would be happy to chip in on the cost of a private detective to follow McAuliffe around and document all his meetings with the media. I have had it with that guy, who is one of the worst thugs to ever enter political life in America.

As you can see, deport came through with the information. Doesn't he always?

They are both statements of fact and here is another one for you. Bush is seeing to it that terrorism won't win and this kind of sniping at the President based on unadulterated bs from the leftist journalists does not do you proud.

Thought we could all use a reality check about travel to Israel -- note the date and this was reissued 2 August of this year!
From the State Department (
http://travel.state.gov/israel_westbank_gaza.html)
Israel, the West Bank and Gaza - Consular Information Sheet
January 3, 2002
Travel Warning (Updated December 7, 2001): The Department of State warns U.S. citizens to defer travel to Israel, the West Bank and Gaza. Ongoing violence has caused numerous civilian deaths and injuries, including to some American tourists. The potential for further terrorist acts remains high. The situation in Gaza and the West Bank remains extremely volatile with continuing confrontations and clashes.
American citizens should limit travel to the Old City of Jerusalem to daylight hours, Saturday through Thursday. U.S. Government personnel in Israel, the West Bank and Gaza are under tight security controls, including prohibition of travel to the West Bank and Gaza. Occasionally, U.S. Government personnel are prohibited from traveling to sections of Jerusalem, including areas in both West and East Jerusalem, depending on current security conditions. Private Americans who remain in Israel, the West Bank and Gaza despite this warning should follow similar precautions and remain in close communication with the American Embassy in Tel Aviv and the American Consulate General in Jerusalem for more detailed information. American citizens residing in the West Bank and Gaza should consider relocating to a safe location.
American citizens in Israel, the West Bank and Gaza should also exercise extreme caution and avoid locations such as restaurants and cafes, shopping areas and malls, pedestrian zones, public buses and bus stops and the areas around them as well as crowds and demonstrations. Roads designed for Israeli settlers including in East Jerusalem have been the site of frequent shooting attacks and roadside explosives, sometimes resulting in death or injury. U.S. Embassy and Consulate employees and their families have been prohibited from using public buses throughout Israel, the West Bank and Gaza. Dual Palestinian American citizens may encounter difficulties departing the West Bank and Gaza during times of Israeli closures in those areas.
From time to time, the Embassy and Consulate General may temporarily suspend public services as necessary to review their security posture. Travel restrictions on official travel into the West Bank and Gaza impair the Embassy's and Consulate General's ability to render emergency services to American citizens in the West Bank and Gaza. In those instances, U.S. citizens who require emergency services may telephone the Consulate General in Jerusalem at (972) (2) 622-7230 or the Embassy in Tel Aviv at (972) (3) 519-7355.
For further information on travel to Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, please consult the Department of State's latest Consular Information Sheet for Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza. The most up-to-date information on security conditions can also be accessed at

Yes, deport always comes through. I am pretty good at searches, but he is the all-time champ, and it is much appreciated!!
I would give anything to be able to get a log of McAuliffe's meetings and comings and goings. I am to the point that I am ready to go to covert operations with that guy. LOL!

"Honorable Hillary Clinton"
The same Hillary Clinton who didn't contact one family member or attend one funeral for Americans murdered in THIS country on 9/11.

Looks like we were on the same wave length! Am with you -- the travel warning was explicit about Americans should not be traveling there!
To: jokemoke
What a bunch of whiners. They're upset because a head of state is not groveling at their feet. Anybody who would be this upset isn't worthy of a visit by the President. This is just another way of saying, "Me first!" and using their dead relatives as an excuse to be so brazen about it. Disgusting.
To: Miss Marple
Parents of children blown up by terrorists ,should be in the fetal position, numbed with grief, unable to eat or sleep-not issuing press releases itemizing their condolence calls. If they feel the need to go public-condemn the terrorists. What an odd society we have become.
To: RCW2001
>Those "citizens" were given more than ample warning from the U.S. State Department to 'defer' travel to Israel then and now...they suffered the consequences of ignoring that warning.
They deserved it in other words? Why does that attitude coming from you not shock me?

This is evident! It's business as usual. Tell me, what would be different today if palestinians did not murder americans in the Israeli university? *NOTHING* Do you really think anyone is shaking in their boots because of the same tired statement Bush gives regarding palestinian terrorism?
To: vance
Where did he say that?
Are you denying that they didn't have KNOWLEDGE of what might happen if they went there? Or is that something you'd conveniently like to ignore.
Regardless of your answer, there is no need for the personal insults because of something he posted.

I will bet you a nickel or a shekel that none of these relatives cast a vote for Bush. They want him to feel their pain like Clinton would have.
Barf. I hired Bush to run this country, not babysit.

I also feel this is being blow out of proportion but a little thoughtfulness and effort on the part of the White House staff would have been comforting to the family.
To: jokemoke
Who can blame the families for being angry? Bush has done jack as far as retaliating against those responsible for the bombing.
To: Miss Marple
I believe that the relative quoted was a cousin. Maybe the cousin is not privy to any communications with the immediate families. If Ted and Hillary didn't get any closer to victim's family than a cousin, maybe they should have kept quiet.

Chicago is city where there is much crime. I still go there. When people blame the victims of crime rather than the criminals, one can assume they side on some level with the criminal, or have contempt for the victims. I am assuming Israel does not have to feel bad when "innocent" Palestinians who live with terrorists are killed, when Israel takes out the terrorists. They "should have known better" than to be around terrorists.
