EXCERPT:
Consider the State Department's decision to hire former Clinton Counsel Gregory B. Craig, of Williams & Connolly, LLP, to represent itself against a whistle-blower lawsuit filed by former employee Linda Shenwick. She alleges that she was transferred and fired for exposing mismanagement and abuse at the United Nations.
The contract calls for Williams & Connolly to be paid as much as $1.46 million, with senior partners such as Craig to be paid upwards of $500 an hour...
Conservatives despise Craig for his work defending Clinton during impeachment and representing Elian Gonzalez's father...
...Deputy Secretary of State Richard L. Armitage said the State Department lawyers are simply no match for Shenwick's lawyers -- Larry Klayman and his watchdog group Judicial Watch, "a talented public interest law firm with extensive litigation experience."
"The department decided that its interests were best served if it was assisted by outside counsel in defending these suits," Armitage said.

What is your point? Democrats are bad. That is a basic and immutable truth.

"clintonista within the State Department"
That is my suspicion too. We'll see what develops.

Shenwick doesn't appear to be a clintonista. See #16. YaYa is probably correct as usual.

The State Department is the biggest refuge of internationalist commie scum on permanent retainer at the expense of the US taxpayer. It should have been purged during the Reagan years. However, I don't expect the internationalist RINOS in the White House to do much about that. Corporate country club republicans are in the pay of transnational corporations with no loyalty to the US whose one world vision is shared with the socialists.
The fact that all of these people shower together does not surprise me in the least.

following your link to it's icky conclusion...."Rosie O'Donnell has hired former Manhattan U.S. attorney Mary Jo White of Debevoise & Plimpton to pursue O'Donnell's complaints about the content of the magazine that bears O'Donnell's name. The former TV chat show host is mad about its content, including a cover photo featuring Rosie and cast members from HBO's "The Sopranos." If O'Donnell wins, maybe she'll ask White to be on the next cover."

Williams & Connolly are part of the un-elected power structure in Washington and they work on problems for whomever holds elected Power it is THAT simple.

On the other hand, she could be a clintonista within the State Department. You can almost BET she is. The Bush Administrations major failing is in not removing the Clintonistas from government. This is not the first one to cause the president problems.

Must be nice when being expelled from ones job means moving to another federal job. I'm not privileged like that, are you?
BTW _ don't be impressed by federal workers getting "outstanding" ratings, raises, and promotions - they ALL get them!

Actually I find it interesting that JW would defend a person who has done what she did. Wait. That's no surprise.

Shenwick doesn't appear to be a clintonista. If your e right, then we can call her a "Carterista". Left unanswered is the question: Why didnt she blow the whistle during the Clinton Administration? Did the U.N. only become corrupt when Bush took office?

I left you in charge of cleaning up the place while I'm off loafing in the South Seas and whadda I get, 16 tons and deeper in debt...
Course, can't blame you for the continuing great need in Washington for overpaid federal employees to stand around scratching their butts while grossly overpaid alleged consultants screw up the system, requiring even more obscenely paid thieves to further mess it up, etc., etc.
How many politicians in our lifetime -- on both sides -- have made great promises that if elected, will reduce the size of the White House staff, clean up Washington's stink, and make life so much better for us? I take what they say as being about as signigicant as Je$$ie Jack$on and televangelists...

State Dept employees have better things to do than swat at gants. It is written in the article. I would rather pay State Dept employees to go against something/someone worthwhile. Let the dogs eat each other on the side.
