US may seize Arab airports by force to attack Iraq: report

Mon Aug 12 2002 14:19:02 ET

BEIRUT, Aug. 12 (Xinhua)--Lebanon received a report from diplomatic sources saying that the United States would seize by force several airports in Arab states when it launches a war against Iraq, the An Nahar newspaper reported on Monday.

The report said that US President George W. Bush would unleash the military offensive in January 2003 as he has to wait the outcome of the midterm elections of the Congress in November. ``Bush prefers to have Arab support for his war to remove Iraqi president Saddam Hussein and the US forces would have facilities in several neighboring Arab airports,'' the report said.

''At any rate,'' it stressed, ``once zero hour comes, Bush will give the orders to use Arab airports by force for the military operation against Iraq if the need arises.'' Bush argued that without the US interference, the Arab countries, the Arab League and the UN Security Council would not have been able to oust the invading Iraqi troops from Kuwait in the 1991 Gulf War.

Meanwhile, the report revealed that the Bush administration has allowed Israel to strike back in the upcoming confrontation against Iraq if the Arab country fires Scud missiles at Israel like it did in 1991.

The report suggested that the Arab world should take the US war preparations against Iraq ``very seriously'' and recommended a diplomatic offensive by Lebanon to consolidate Pan-Arab camp.

If you make this a "forbidden text" then you are helping promote "Allah" and his hate..

What better endorcement could you ask for than an outright ban?

Do you feel that Germany endorses Hitler by banning "Mein Kampf?"

Have you not read my posts on this thread? I'm not talking about taking away Muslim library cards. I'm talking about total war, a Clash of Civilizations, and unconditional surrender. At that point, at utter defeat, with homes and towns leveled and loved ones dead, the spirit of war leaves a nation... they are sick of it.

At that moment, the Koran must be removed as well. And they will be glad to be rid of it.

Unintentionally, yes..

I found it on the shelf (much to my suprise!) for ten bucks..

If it went unmentioned then there wouldn't be a market for it, I wouldn't have recognized it instantly and no copies would be sold.

Some wise man said concerning Jesus:

(to paraphrase) If they are of men then they will be scattered when their leader falls..

You don't have to agree with me, but my course of action would not be to ban the Koran.. But to show it up for the inhuman monstrosity that it is..

Just quote it.. My goodness.

If you make it "forbidden fruit" however, it will continue to thrive.. Mark my words. That's not the way to kill religious sects.

Remember, you heard it here first.. So, I want all the credit.

At a certain point, reverse psychology becomes far too cute.

This is Just War. There is a cancer, the cancer is Islam, and it must be cut out, root and tumor. If the Koran stays, so does the cancer.

Further discussion is pointless. I harbor no illusions that my perspective has much sway in the Bush Administration, yours is closer to the mark. He will focus on terror and turn a blind eye to Islam. I'll support him and this war until then. He will go farther than his father, and will still fall short.

After a time, we will see the evil return.

Many will urge a diplomatic solution...

Sabertooth, if they consider themselves truly "Religious"

Then you can't stop then by stamping out their book.

If you stamped out the Protestant Bible right now it would merit you nothing.

I still know what it says.. All you will do is piss me off.

PS: And you would be LUCKY that I know what it says..

Because otherwise others would interpret it to me and add their own spin.

It's a bad move, killing a book for religious purposes.. IMO.

Because you haven't been annihilated in a war your Bible compelled you to fight. The mindset is a little different under those circumstances.

Ever hear about MacArthur's requests for Bibles and evangelists when he was administering the occupation of Japan? They'd have adopted Christianity as surely as they adopted baseball and capitalism.

How prevalent is the indigenous Aztec religion of Mexico?

Why are the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel still lost?

For that matter, how did Islam win so many converts in such a short period of time after Mohammed? By winning wars first.

Okay.. How have the Christians and the Jews fared through all their persecution?

I think it made them stronger.

Banning a book for religious purposes will only create a complete and total demand for it.. people will do anything if they believe.

It's cruel, inhumane and counterproductive. Just refute it! All you are doing is building a market..

Calling it off limits is every bit as good as a stamp of validation from God himself.

I don't care what kind of background you have and I don't care what the opposing army looks like.. and I am only going to say in out loud once.. So read close..

YOU CANNOT BEAT DOWN PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE (rightly, in error, in half error.. for whatever reason) THEY ARE SERVING "GOD"

It's won't work.. They may fall apart on their own, but beating them just makes them stronger..

They focus their efforts on you.

Once the sparks start flying on this one, seizing a few airports will seem like child's play. Sounds bold now, but after the first SCUD hits Israel....the gloves come off this time around.

I disagree with your reverse psychology premise. What can I say, I think it's truly silly.

Yes, they are a force to reckoned with in the Islamic world.

I find this a little breathtaking. These are people who send boys to blow up women and children. Our notions of humanity are alien to them.

Fanatics are refuted by wiping them out and purging the poison from any survivors.

"Humane" thinking such as yours has brought us to this. It is perceived as weakness by Muslims, and that builds the market.

Why didn't you go to the cap lock key ealier?

Go read the Old Testament. Every one of the pagans the Jews vanquished in the Promised Land thought they were serving their god or gods.

Once again, "how about those Aztecs?"

Wait until she learns how to off the UPS main switch and your computer goes down.

That is my 3 year old grand daughters trick. She started with the tv when I tried to watch CNBC's daily Wall Street Shows. Then, a couple of months ago, I was on the computer searching for something for her mother, my DIL,. She walks in looks over my shoulder and pushes the UPS master switch and everything goes off. Windows XP gets a little funny when that happens.

We think that she noticed on the tvs at her home and our tv the far right button was the off button. So she decided to try it.

So no tv nor computers for PaPa when she is around.

Loved your earlier links and I had to tell a story of a friend of mine whose three year old son's first words were..."ON!"...The house was totally ripped up to add a third story and little one had full access to ALL the plugged in power tools strewn about the floor in the remo area!8-O. He'd toddle up to anything and pull the trigger...ON he'd say and sure enough the circular saw would obediently spin up! I was horrified but It weren't My kid AND he grew up with all his fingers attached...Sheesh! So OFF may not be the worst talent for a youngun!!!

This grand daughter has been this way all of her life.

You will pay attention to her. She does it in a teasing fashion so you can't get mad at her. Her dad will try to ignore her and read a fishing magazine. She will get into his lap and "read" with him or take one of her books crawl in anyone's lap and just say "Read to me, please!"

Her younger brother, whom I have nicknamed Bam Bam, just grabs you and won't let go. When he wakes up from his nap, he will grab one of us and drag us over to the refrigerator and punch it until we open it and fill his tippee cup with milk. Then he will hold your hand until he drains the first cup. Then he bangs the empty cup against your leg until you refill it. Then he drags you back to the couch to pick him and hold him until he finishes his second cup of milk. Subtle moves are not his nature.

And people wonder why we are hated throughout the world.

The few nations that have been completely defeated by the USA in war do NOT hate us. Germany, Japan, Italy.

I'd venture that the average citizens in those places respects us, understands our might, and realizes we SAVED them from themselves. And DOES NOT hate us.

So if we inflict complete military defeat on a HOSTILE muslim nation, why wouldn't the same result occur?

Looking backwards, I wonder what would be the present situation, if we had toppled Iraq the last time? Would Saudi Arabia today risk supporting anti-American efforts? Would Egypt? Would Pakistan?

I submit that when diplomacy has failed, you don't keep INSANELY trying more diplomacy. You unleash the BIG SWORD on your declared enemy.

Then you might be surprised how few enemies remain willing to fall to the sword. Islam as a religion will be fine, provided it is as many claim, peaceful.

If it persists as an enemy political institution, it must be punished to the point of defeat, and submission, sooner or later. I prefer sooner.

Iraq is probably NOT the ideal place to drive home the point. But they have opted to be the target.
