NEW STRONG EVIDENCE LINKS AUTISM TO VACCINE
Scientists have uncovered the strongest evidence yet that the three-in-one Measels-Mumps-Rubella(MMR) vaccine plays a clear role in the development of autism.
Earlier this year British expert Dr Andrew Wakefield and molecular pathologist Professor John O'Leary established a possible link between the measles virus, autism and a related bowel disorder. They found fragments of the measles virus from the MMR jab in the guts of autistic children who also suffer a rare form of bowel disease.
Now scientists at Utah State University, have reported finding a strong association between the MMR vaccine and an autoimmune reaction which is thought to play a role in autism.
The team led by Dr Vijendra Singh analysed blood samples from 125 autistic children and 92 children who did not have autism. Dr Singh, is an acknowledged expert with more than 20 years experience of immunology research.
In 75 of the 92 autistic children they found antibodies showing there had been an abnormal reaction to the measles component of the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine. Nine out of ten of those children were also positive for antibodies thought to be involved in autism.
These are incredible statistics. The antibodies attack the brain by targeting the basic building blocks of myelin, the insulating sheath that covers nerve fibres. This stops the nerves developing properly and may affect brain functions. Dr Singh has suggested that an abnormal immune response may be the root cause of many cases of autism.
None of the non-autistic children showed the unusual anti-measles response.
Not one. Not any. Zero. Nil. What a damming statistic. Read that sentence again and consider it well.
But incredibly, the UK Government's Chief Medical Officer and the British Medical Association, both still insist there is a wealth of scientific evidence that the triple jab is the safest way to protect children.
And Peter Lachmann, Emeritus Professor of Immunology at Cambridge, said that the conclusions drawn by Vijendra Singh and his team did not make for a direct link between MMR and autism.
In my view the associations that Dr Singh makes do not follow. His hypothesis does not show causality; he is drawing unjustifiable conclusions from the antibody data he has collected. I do not think such conclusions can be drawn.
As these comments reveal, the new evidence has the Government and the BMJ fighting a rearguard action to keep the lid on the vaccine/autism disaster.
Dr Singh's team report their findings in the latest issue of the Journal of Biomedical Science. The news of their findings is unreported as of this date in the US media.
They sensibly conclude: 'Stemming from this evidence, we suggest that an inappropriate antibody response to MMR, specifically the measles component thereof, might be related to pathogenesis of autism.'
In my opinion,......
Once again you confuse an editorial with real PEER REVIEWED studies.
Now you've put it off long enough, answer my questions:
-Why would EVERY researcher looking into this lie?
-Why would other drug companies, who could make money off a replacement vaccine, support the conspiracy?
-How could MMR be the cause of autiam when rates in the UK started going up in 1979 and MMR wasn't introduced until 1988?
-How can rates of autism in the US have shown a steady growth since the 80s and MMR vaccine rates remained steady?
oop, you nailed me there.
This from a guy named TOMB.
what's the fatality rate of measles, mumps or rubella?
Now, what are the consequences of autism?
From one of the posts above you obviously didn't read:
Before the mumps vaccine was introduced in 1967, the United States had about 200,000 cases of mumps every year, with 20 to 30 deaths. Mumps was also the most common cause of acquired deafness and of viral meningitis, an infection of the lining of the brain. Up to 40 percent of males infected with mumps after puberty develop a painful swelling of the testicles called orchitis, which in rare cases can lead to sterility and testicular cancer. Today the United States has about 350 cases of mumps each year
Before the vaccine came along in 1965, rubella caused these birth defects in 20,000 infants a year. Today only about five children each year in the United States are born with birth defects caused by rubella.
They don't die.
However, you are assuming a correlation when none exists.
And where are the stats for death related to MMR reactions? Ill admit I don't have all this info in a file somewhere, but after MUCH research many years ago, and a bad reaction with our son, we decided not to vaccinate our daughter with this shot. When something safer comes along, fine. Until then, I don't appreciate all the government propaganda and fear mongering about vaccinations.
Obviously there are none, or very few, otherwise the antivaccinationists would be waving them around these threads.
I don't appreciate all the government propaganda and fear mongering about vaccinations.
Good Lord, I can't believe you wrote that! After looking at all the evidence for MMRs safety I posted, who is doing the fear mongering?
Good morning TomB...Below is a list of peer-reviwed studies...
in fact most of which I have posted has come from peer-reviewed journal articles...
only some are accounts from parents and relatives of vaccine-injured children...
just more coincidences I suppose...
Increase in Pediatric Brain Tumors
The following information comes from the medical literature and demonstrates that the rate of pediatric brain tumors is on the rise.
1988: In this article from the Yale University School of Medicine, doctors examined the rise of childhood cancers in Connecticut from 1935-1979. They wrote: "A threefold increase in the incidence of acute lymphoblastic leukemia in males 0-4 years of age was observed The incidence of central nervous system cancers also increased in several age groups for both sexes with the largest increase seen in males 0-4 years old." van Hoff J, Schymura MJ, Curnen MG, Department of Pediatrics, Yale University School of Medicine, "Trends in the incidence of childhood and adolescent cancer in Connecticut, 1935-1979", Med Pediatr Oncol 1988;16(2):78-87
1993: In 1993, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas reviewed national data on childhood cancer rates from 1973 to 1988 and found it to be increasing. The author wrote:
"The 1991 edition of Cancer Statistics Review was scrutinized for information on the status of pediatric cancers in the United States. The evidence indicates that in the United States, cancer among children younger than 15 years of age is increasing in incidence." Bleyer WA, "What can be learned about childhood cancer from 'Cancer statistics review 1973-1988' ", Cancer 1993 May 15;71(10 Suppl):3229-36
1994: One year later, researchers at the University of Washington analyzed the rates of childhood cancers from 1974 to 1989. They found that all the brain cancers were on the rise. They also added that no one knows why these cancers are going up. They wrote:
"Increasing annual incidence rates were found for all childhood cancers combined, acute lymphoid leukemia, and brain tumors it remains largely undetermined why childhood cancer incidence rates are increasing in the United States "
Gurney JG, Davis S, Severson RK, Robison LL, "The influence of subsequent neoplasms on incidence trends in childhood cancer" Cancer Epidemiol Biomarkers Prev 1994 Jun;3(4):349-51 1996: In 1996, researchers from the Department of Pediatrics at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia looked at the incidence of cancer in the "Greater Delaware Valley" from 1970 to 1989. Cancers of the central nervous system (e.g. brain tumors such as medulloblastoma) went up 2.7% a year. They wrote: "As little is known about the aetiology (cause) of cancer in children We report here on trends in the incidence of 15 categories of cancer in children under 15 years of age from 1970 to 1989, using data from the Greater Delaware Valley Pediatric Tumor Registry the incidence of central nervous system (CNS) tumors rose 2.7% a year. All three subgroups in this category, glioma, PNET/medulloblastoma, and other CNS tumors, showed increases The rise in CNS tumor incidence confirms previous reports from the U.S. and Great Britain."
Bunin GR, Feuer EJ, Witman PA, Meadows AT, "Increasing incidence of childhood cancer: report of 20 years experience from the greater Delaware Valley Pediatric Tumor Registry" Paediatr Perinat Epidemiol 1996 Jul;10(3):319-38 That same year, researchers at Wayne State University of Medicine in Detroit examined data on childhood cancer from the National Cancer Institute for the years 1974-1991. They found it had increased especially in "young children." They wrote: "Population-based data from nine registries (from) the National Cancer Institute were analyzed Rates increased an average of 2% or more per year for astroglial tumors, rhabdomyosarcomas, germ cell tumors and osteosarcomas Cancer trends in general were strongest in young children. In particular, increases in astroglial tumors and rhabdomyosarcomas were most apparent among children under three years of age and for retinoblastoma and neuroblastoma among children in their first year of life." Gurney JG, Davis S, Severson RK, Fang JY, Ross JA, Robison LL, "Trends in cancer incidence among children in the U.S." Cancer 1996 Aug 1;78(3):532-41
1998: In 1998, researchers in Minnesota reviewed the rates of pediatric cancer in eight Minnesota counties. Over 1,100 cancers were diagnosed in 6 years (1988-1994). They noted that cancer rates were increasing, "particularly brain tumors."
"Childhood cancer incidence patterns for Minnesota, obtained from the Minnesota Cancer Surveillance System, were compared with national rates as well as with historic data from eight Minnesota counties. In total, 1,140 neoplasms were diagnosed in children (ages 0 to 14) between 1988 and 1994. Leukemias were the most common diagnosis for boys (30.3%) and girls (29.6%), followed by central nervous system tumors...In particular, the incidence rate for astrocytoma ( a kind of brain tumor)in boys was significantly elevated. Childhood cancer incidence, particularly brain tumors, has increased in the eight-county region from 1969 to 1994. This analysis demonstrated the Minnesota's childhood cancer incidence patterns are similar to national patterns." Swensen AR, Bushhouse SA "Childhood cancer incidence and trends in Minnesota, 1988-1994" Minn Med 1998 Dec;81(12):27-32
1999: In 1999, the National Cancer Institute looked at the trends in childhood cancer between 1975 and 1995. They found a "statistically significant" rise in the occurrence for brain and other central nervous system cancers. They wrote: "For brain and other central nervous system cancers, incidence rose modestly, although statistically significantly " Linet MS, Ries LA, Smith MA, Tarone RE, Devesa SS, "Cancer surveillance series: recent trends in childhood cancer incidence and mortality in the United States" J Natl Cancer Inst 1999 Jun 16;91(12):1051-8 That same year, the International Journal of Health Services published a report in which they stated that the "rising childhood cancer rate represents a far more serious problem in the United States than previous reports have suggested."
"From the early 1980s to the early 1990s, the incidence of cancer in American children under 10 years of age rose 37 percent, or 3 percent annually. There is an inverse correlation between increases in cancer rates and age at diagnosis; the largest rise (54 percent) occurred in children diagnosed before their first birthday. Rates rose for all 11 states and cities included in the analysis. A jump in cancer rates for children born in 1982-83 was followed by a drop; but another abrupt rise for the 1986-87 birth cohort has been sustained thereafter. Results indicate that the rising childhood cancer rate represents a far more serious problem in the United States than previous reports have suggested " Mangano JJ, "A rise in the incidence of childhood cancer in the United States" Int J Health Serv 1999;29(2):393-408
okay, tomb. All I know is what happened to us. You can post all the evidence you want.
Funny, vaccines aren't mentioned at all in your ENTIRE POST! What is the point of posting completely unrelated studies, just to have something to post?
Did you forget we were talking about vaccines in general and MMR/autism specifically?
' in fact most of which I have posted has come from peer-reviewed journal articles...
Uhhhh, no. Most of your "evidence" is opinion pieces. But since the evidence I gave VASTLY outwieghs any you have, I'd say the burden of proof is still on you.
My son's therapist gave me a pretty dry textbook on autism. I think that's where I read about overdevelopment of the brain. Just a theory.
Asperger Syndrome is fairly new and is a high functioning form of autism. The kids are generally smart, but socially clueless and just kinda odd. My son also has problems with anxiety and obsessive thinking and that's what we've mainly focused on.
It's difficult to see your kid struggle socially in elementary school. It's only going to get harder for him unless we can help him to become more "normal". Some people will brush this off as being unimportant...not everyone is popular, get over it! But my son is a big target. Couple that with his anxiousness and we have a recipe for teenaged disaster. It worries me a lot.
Hello TomB - I hope you realize that vaccinations and all the adverse effects associated with them have been researched for a long time and the results published in peer-review journals - your gold standard I assume...Below is a list of research that should keep you reading for a long time...
enjoy!

Ehrengut W at Institute of Vaccinology and Virology, Hamburg, Germany states, "Bias in the evaluation of CNS complications following pertussis immunization are the following: 1) Notifications of post-immunization adverse events, 2) Publications by vaccine producers on the frequency of adverse reactions, 3) Comparison of permanent brain damage after DPT and DT immunization, 4) Pro-immunization, 5) Immunization associated viral encephalitis, 6) Accuracy of statistics, 7) Personal. A review of these points indicates an underestimation of CNS complications after pertussis immunization."

mandated vaccinations should stop...
Also, one of the studies discusses "Leukemia Virus Subunit Vaccines" which had nothing to do with vaccines causing leukemia.
It looks like this Mercola guy just entered search terms into google and copied anything that got a hit.
I would suggest you find more credible sources, because this one is complete garbage.
yes you are missing something...
How is lymphadenitis the same as leukemia?
THE NEW FIGURES were dismaying for India, which only two decades ago saw tens of thousands afflicted with polio every year, but was now thought to be on the last lap in the race to wipe out the disease after an ambitious immunization campaign.
According to the National Polio Surveillance Project, run by the federal government and the World Health Organization, 86 new cases were reported from January through June this year ? compared to 31 cases over the same period last year.
*****snip******
But the increase may also reflect the difficulties faced by tens of thousands of campaigners in trying to reach children for immunization.
In some rural areas, Muslim clerics tell their brethren to shun the vaccine, calling it evil and part of a conspiracy by the Hindu-dominated government to limit the birth rate of Muslims, India?s largest minority. Keegan of the CDC said 90 percent of new polio cases were in the majority Muslim state of Andhra Pradesh.
I do not want to waste your time with this, nor do I want to waste my time...
I think the research record speaks for itself - the big picture is that vaccines can be harmful and parents should be cautious and not just accept as fact, the vaccines are safe so don't worry line that is given to them...
As far as I am concerned, a few of the present research studies on autism shows that in all probability there is some sort of connection to MMR and that further research is needed to sort out cause and effect...
there is a shadow of doubt on the triple jab's safety and the safety of other vaccines with thimerosol as a preservative...
I'll stay away from vaccinations - I don't want them in my body and I will urge others to ask questions for the good of themselves and their children...
time and good research will elucidate the mechanism behind these terrible childhood illnesses which show parallel increase with vaccine administration...
legitimate questions are being asked about this...
let the questions be asked...
I am wondering - what do you say to those parents who will insist to you that a vaccine caused their child's autism...
do you tell them no - that can't be - look at this research study it says there is absolutely no link here...
dont' you think that you can look back in history and find examples of research that was touted as being authoritative only later to find that the research had serious inherent flaws and proved to be false?
good luck TomB - but I think time and better research methods will eventuallly prove conclusively, that there is a link to MMR and autism...
my next question is what happens then?...
do you tell all the families of the vaccine injured children to just live with the pain of it all?
Hmmm... there has got to be a better way!
in all actuality, mandated vaccinations are akin to the view that it takes a village...
these children are not yours so don't mandate that they have to get vaccinated - let the parents decide what's best...
